We stayed over the weekend at Red Bud for our anniversary. The house was very clean and beautifully decorated. We stayed in the Poplar room which we found to be very spacious, relaxing, and comfortable. The bed did squeak a bit, but apart from that we were very delighted with the room. In the evening, we especially enjoyed sitting on the back porch to take in the spring weather. Suzanne, our hostess, was very hospitable; due to special circumstances on our side, she made arrangements to accommodate us with an early check in and took extra time to make a breakfast plate for my wife without milk or cheese. The breakfast was delicious and Suzanne acted as our personal waitress; refilling our glasses and asking if we needed anything. All and all I felt like we were living in luxury for a fee less than most motels. I would highly recommend 189 Red Bud Bed & Breakfast to anyone interested in an weekend getaway!

Room Tip: The bed in the Poplar room is a queen size bed is larger than the other room, but it is a little squ...

Nestled on a hillside close to Versailles Rd. Horse Farms and Lexington, Kentucky, we found our stay a welcome, quiet rest in a gracious old home. The inn is roomy, with beautifully appointed rooms, each having its own large bathroom. All was spotlessly clean, and best of all, breakfast was delicious - crepes, egg casserole and fresh fruit. Lots of information is available about the surrounding area and its offerings, and our host was well informed. The inn has a peaceful, relaxed, homey atmosphere - perfect after a long travel day. Our thanks to our host.

Our stay at the 1898 Redbud was a true delight from the minute we walked in. Spacious, quiet and clean, appointed beautifully. The queen size bed in the Poplar room was wonderful and the linens luxurious! Suzann's breakfasts are truly amazing! What a way to start the day. She allowed us to use the common rooms to play board games with our family in town and she always had a wonderful snack and water for tea and cocoa available. We would stay here again in a heart beat.

My stay last week at the 1898 Red Bud B&B was a most delightful experience. Suzann's gracious hospitality began over the phone as I booked the Poplar room for my lodging for a week of January term classes at the seminary and continued throughout my stay. The room was spacious with a most comfortable queen size bed that assured a good night's rest. The B&B was very clean and well appointed throughout. The breakfasts each morning were generous, wholesome and delicious and offered at a time that fit my school schedule. There were little baked goodies and hot water for tea each day upon my return to the B&B. The quiet, comfortable common areas allowed me to read, study and relax during my stay. Thank you Suzann for making my stay a most memorable one. Many blessings in 2013 for you and your family!

Although we do not live far from Lexington, we wanted to get away without traveling too far to celebrate our anniversary. We could not have made a better choice than the 1898 Red Bud B & B! Suzann was gracious and warm without being intrusive. We enjoyed the gorgeous yard and expansive front porch after a long day of hiking in nearby Shaker Village. We chose the Oak Room and loved the high antique bed. Suzann had red roses and chocolate covered strawberries next to a lovely Happy Anniversary card waiting in our room for us. And, yes, the strawberries were divine! Breakfast was a delightful feast and fueled us for another day of hiking in Raven Run. The home is lovely with far too many nice touches to list. It is also immaculate. Having stayed in many B & B's over the years, we can honestly say this is one of the best. Thank you, Suzann!

Room Tip: Both are beautiful and quiet. If you prefer a shower to an old fashion tub, pick the Poplar room.

1898 Red Bud B&B was a wonderful stop for us this fall. Suzann is a very gracious hostess. The home is so spacious and comfortable. We chose the poplar room, and had a very good night's sleep on a most comfortable queen bed (we almost overslept for breakfast). Suzann's breakfast was scrumptious! The place is immaculately clean, and although it is in town, it was very quiet, affording us some relaxation on her huge front porch. There were fresh flowers in our room, on the tea table, and on the breakfast table. Thank you so much, Suzann and Dan, for opening your lovely home to travelers!!! We hope to come back!

We just spent a beautiful weekend at the 1898 Red Bud B&B in Wilmore, Kentucky, and our experience could not have been better. We were warmly welcomed upon our arrival, and shown to our lovely room with its own bathroom. Everything was beautifully appointed and very clean (something that is personally important to me!). Upon returning to our room each night, homemade treats (pumpkin bars with cream cheese icing, lavender-infused fudge, hot tea or coffee) were waiting for us! When Suzann found out we were celebrating our 25th anniversary, we returned to our room to find long-stemmed red roses with a lovely card, and we were also treated to chocolate-covered strawberries and red wine on the porch in the afternoon! Breakfasts were wonderful (crepes with fresh strawberries and whipped cream, egg casseroles and souffles, etc.) and when our college-age son joined us for breakfast one morning, she even accommodated his more finicky tastes by making pancakes and bacon just for him. We could not have been happier with our stay and highly recommend the 1898 Red Bud B&B!

Room Tip: We chose the poplar room because it had the larger bed and a nice bathroom with shower.
