My husband and I stayed at Edgewater via the Living Social Escape. The views from our cottage were amazing, the hot tub was nice as well. The cottage could have used some upkeep prior to our arrival, but it was cozy enough for our stay. We were able to bring our 2 miniture dachshunds and they enjoyed taking walks around the property. Another plus is that the resort is gated and you need a key card to get in/out.

We loved our time at edgewater because of the views, the cleanliness, the hot tub at each cabin, the proximity to the water and the marina. We recommend it!

My husband and I had planned a short vacation and stayed at Edgewater as part of a deal offered by LivingSocial.com. It was a great package that included a 2 night stay in a one bedroom cottage (which was just one of their two bedroom cottages, with doors to the second bedroom and bathroom locked/inaccesible) and lots of freebies - distillery tours, wine tastings, canoe rentals, and special offers at local businesses, the on-site spa and a local golf course.

We were running extremely late for check-in - we didn't read in our confirmation email that the check-in time was from 4-5pm. Oops! When we arrived on-site, we were able to contact a staff member and he directed us to our late check-in packet.

We found the cottage to be extremely clean and very open and spacious. We unpacked our things and headed into Bloomfield (I think) for dinner at Hometown Pizza, which was very good. We returned to relax in the hot tub for the night. Staff left instructions for use and had the tub heated and ready for use.

Unfortunately, we had to check out around noon the next day. My husband was experiencing some unexplained pain and discomfort and we had to return home to so he could see the doctor. :(

We would most definitely stay at Edgewater again in the future. The staff was very kind and helpful - before and during our stay. We stayed on a Tuesday night in September 2011 and enjoyed that it was so quiet and peaceful - day and night.

Everything about our visit was a PRO! (The only CON would be that there is next to no data connectivity for smart phones in the area - not an Edgewater issue though.)

Room Tip: We stayed in Cottage 23 - elevated location gave great view of lake from back porch/hot tub!

We stayed for a weekend and the staff was very helpful in booking our reservation on short notice. When we arrived, our cottage was even better than we could've hoped! Every room was spotlessly clean and the view from the deck was fantastic! Every small touch that can make your stay more comfortable has been considered - including a bottle of aloe for our post fishing trip sunburns! The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen fully stocked - including packets of coffee for the coffee maker! The resort offers so many activities that we ran out of time before we could take full advantage.

Don't wait - go to Edgewater Resort today! You won't regret it!

Our daughter and her husband had always dreamed of getting married in a venue that would allow all friends and family to be together in a relaxed setting for the weekend. Edgewater Resort was everything we could have wished for! We had over 250 guests - of which 200+ stayed at the Resort for the entire weekend. We played games, had a pig roast, a 5K run on site... it was truly an amazing time. The folks at Edgewater were gracious to our guests, many of which came from the North and had never been to Kentucky. We can never thank Willow and the folks at Edgewater for everything they did to make weekend so special. I have recommended this venue many times since May and will continue to do so. Thank you for making our daughter and this MOB so happy!

Let me start by saying I am a city girl at heart! I like the little perks of staying in a city hotel that I cah sit back and relax. That having been said, I have a family filled with boys who would just as soon be throwing mud at each other. We have been to Edgewater now several times because for us it is the perfect distance to Louisville that we can get away if even for a weekend. I cannot disagree more with the review that said it was dirty !!!!! There has never been a time that the cabin was not neat with all the little perks of a big hotel. Soaps and shampoos, coffee for the coffee maker, clean towels and nicely appointed kitchens. Are there some outside bugs and critters?......sure .....IT IS A LAKE!!!! I have been able to relax at the pool, get a massage at the spa, enjoy wireless internet and relax in the hot tub......., all while my husband and boys go fishing or boating or down to the beach. The store is close to stock up on all you need for your stay and there are several family friendly options to eat in Taylorsville itself. Are you going to find 5 star restaurants?...no....again....IT IS A LAKE!!!!
We will continue to go to this resort. It is perfect for all of the members of our family !!! We have never been disappointed!

Our family rented the large 5BR house for a late July family reunion weekend at a price of $399 + tax per night...not cheap, but worth it if the place would have been completely finished and laid out a bit differently.
The good - the house was very clean with comfortable beds and plenty of space to socialize.
The not so good - no washer/dryer as advertised, no bathroom downstairs which meant the community bathroom on the main level was shared by 3 BRs, no towel bars or toilet tissue holders in all bathrooms, downstairs bedrooms had no shelving or way to hang up clothes, 95% of kitchen cabinets and drawers did not have the knobs installed so it was very hard to open them, one A/C for a three story house resulted in warm upper most level BR/bath and meat locker temps downstairs and there were NO vent covers downstairs so you couldn't even shut the vent to prevent the air from blasting all day and night....imagine a big hole in the wal pouring out cold air all day and night....lots of small "finishing" items were never completed....if we were there for more than a weekend, we would have negotiated a free day in lieu of finishing all of the items that were never completed. Initially we were thinking the house must be very new and they rushed to get it ready to rent out, but that obviously wasn't the case because the decks and hot tub showed several years of wear.

Room Tip: Do not rent the 5 bedroom house if you want private bathrooms, need washer/dryer, or you intend to s...
