“Awesome area and tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 13, 2013

Gorgeous area to start with. Awesome tour. Even though it was raining they gave us a few laps around the track. Went up into Bruton Smith's suite, saw and got pictures in the winner's circle, another top view of the track. Went down to where the press sits and where driver's meet. They even took us to where the campers stay. Tour was very personable; would love to come back for a race. Paid only $5 for tour but would have paid more for that one!!!

“Nascar in KY”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 15, 2013

We attended the NASCAR race at Kentucky Speedway on June 29. This is the same race as the person who rated this as 'terrible', but we didn't have any issues. The race was rained out and actually ran on Sunday. This is the first race we've been to, so we don't have other tracks to compare it to. Race was to start at 7pm and we arrived around 3:30. Not much traffic at that time - we drove right in, went where the officials where directing us and were parked in very little time. We rode one of the shuttles up to the track facility, but after the race we walked out quickly and walked to our car. The line waiting for the shuttle after the race was long, so it seemed smarter & quicker just to walk. There was a bit of a jam leaving the parking lots, but not as bad as I expected, and we were able to get out without much trouble. I'm sure if you were slow exiting the stands that the traffic would have been worse. Any time you have thousands of people exiting an event at the same time you are bound to have traffic problems. We didn't need any beer so we didn't know or care that they didn't sell any until 1PM on Sunday (which is a KY state law). Food/soda is expensive ($4 for a bottle of soda or water, $4 for a large hotdog, $8 hamburgers) but you are allowed to bring a soft cooler so we took snacks and soda and water. We also bought the Coca Cola 4 pack tickets, which had seats in grandstand 1 and included a hot dog and coke for each person. I'm sure the more expensive seats have a better view, but we were happy with those we had and the price was affordable for a family on a budget. There was never a line waiting for bathrooms. There was a short line for food on Saturday and a longer line on Sunday when only a few of the venders were open. We reserved a hotel room in Louisville well in advance and paid around $95.

“My Favorite Track”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 9, 2013

I have been to a few race tracks and this is by far my favorite..I have been attending races here for 5-6 years and had been going here since before the great Sprint race arrived..Parking and traffic, etc are the same as any other raceway, hectic! The one thing I do have to say is if you attend this place during a NASCAR race it is complete craziness where as if you attend during and Indy car race it is calm and polite, shows the difference in fan types I suppose but I cant say much but I love them both! We went to the Quaker State 400 June 29th and unfortunately got rained out and didnt get to return for the rescheduled race on the 30th but we still made the best of it and had a great time wandering around in the rain going to all the different vendors and eating more than our share of corndogs that are by the way enormous! Love this track!

“Good Race and Nice Facilities but very few vendors.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 8, 2013

Attended Quaker State 400 on June 29 and 30. Tailgated all afternoon on June 29. Lots of rain but we had a good time. Parking was good and facilities were not far off. Went to the track and had no trouble getting in but there weren't very many vendors available for food and drink. The race was rained out so we came back to a beautiful day on June 30. Weather was perfect and the view of the track and the surrounding countryside is gorgeous. Even fewer vendors available on Sunday. In our tower there were a few food vendors and several drink vendors. Many vendor stands were closed. When we got to the food stand, they were out of about half of what they had for sale. Traffic coming in was great but leaving on Sunday took at least an hour and a half to get out of the parking lot. I-71 was a parking lot so we took a back route which was not much faster but a lot prettier and more enjoyable than sitting in a traffic jam.

Overall, it was a good experience and we would return. Pick seats high in the stands. From there you can see the entire track and a spectacular vista of the surrounding area. Take the elevator to the level above yours and walk down to your seats. It is a well designed facility.
