“New, clean and spacious.”
Reviewed July 11, 2010

My husband and I traveled to Somerset KY recently for business. We are avid travelers and travel every week for business. We usually stay at Marriott properties, but since there are not any Marriott properties in the area, I decided to try Holiday Inn and join their Priority Club. The hotel is very clean and obviously new and well decorated. The only problems we encountered were the WIFI was non-existant and the wall thermostat in the room was non-functioning! We called the front desk Friday night regarding the WIFI and the girl dismissed it and stated "Its working fine and no one else has had an issue". We have a customer oriented business and if only one customer complains, it's and "issue"! Again Saturday night we could not connect nor Sunday morning. It is very important as we travel to have WIFI/Internet for email, purchasing etc. and I refuse to stay anywhere that charges for the service. When we checked out Sunday we again brought it to the front desk attendant's attention. Again, she said no one else has had an issue! When I told her that I indeed had called Friday night about it she said, "Well maybe it is your computer"! Very poor attitude. Other than that, it was a nice stay. Bed was very comfortable, pillows great and bathroom very clean. Standard "free" breakfast. I do agree that it is a bit over priced for a 2.5 star hotel, however.

We relaxed here 2 nights and enjoyed every bit of it.
The hotel was new, clean, and eye catching. The room was well appointed and spacious. Bathroom was extremely clean and showerhead was amazing. Nice size mini fridge (bigger than most) and full size mirror in entry was a plus.
Hotel staff were very friendly. And the complimentary breakfast was fresh and yummy.
The indoor pool was perfect and had dazzling changing underwater lights.
All in all, it was a great stay. If we're ever in that area again, this will be our hotel of choice.

One of my family members was having surgery at the local hospital.
This motel had about the best rates. We stayed December 29th and had to come back December 31 and January 1st and 2nd.
The rooms were spotless and well decorated(Everything looked new).
The common area was the same crisp look.
There was always fresh coffee. The hot breakfast was great wit a good variety. Eggs, bacon rolls, yogurt, cereals, even a ham and cheese omlette freshly cooked.
The staff were always cheerful and knew their job. They were local people that spoke English that I could understand!!! I would have to rate this hotel as one of the best if not the best, period

Arrived very late, no problem with the room. Front desk was very efficient and friendly. Room was very clean, everything felt new and fresh. Very comfortable bed. Breakfast the next morning was decent, the usual HIE sort. Wish they had more non-carb type offerings but there was enough to eat. Several warm options, cinnamon rolls, biscuits, bacon, sausage, eggs and omelets plus cereals, breads, yogurts, fruit, juices, coffee. Good value at this hotel.

My wife and I stayed overnight here while visiting relatives in the area. We did not have reservations and checked in rather late. There were no hassles and the desk clerk was very nice and professional. We forgot our Holiday Inns rewards card, but the desk clerk told us that she would go into the computer and manually update our records for this stay. The room rate was decent, but I thought it was a little high for a weeknight stay. The room was very nice, clean, and neat. The bed was large and very comfortable, bathroom well appointed and spotless. All in all one of the better hotels I've stayed at recently.

The free breakfast was okay but not up to the standards of some of the other Holiday Inn Selects I have stayed at. The breakfast room was clean and the staff attentive, just the food quality was adequate, but nothing to rave about.

All in all, our stay was short but pleasant. We would stay here again when in the neighborhood.

My brother booked a train trip on the Big South Fork Scenic Railway in Stearns, KY and we required nearby lodging. After reading several TA reviews, we settled on this hotel. We were told that it was brand new and it definitely looks that way. The lobby and the rooms were sparkling clean and the beds were so comfortable. The lady who checked us in was quite friendly and helpful in suggestions for supper. (There is a marina that is approx. 20 minutes away but if you want the standard fast food fare it can be found much closer.) We missed the turn in a couple of times - you can easily see the hotel from the road but getting back there to it fooled us. Not a big deal though. They have a saltwater pool which I was anxious to try but there was a little league team staying there and they had taken over that area. Pool area looked very nice - fun lights at nighttime. They also make fresh baked cookies and put them out in the lobby as time permits. Breakfast was fine - they have the cinnamon rolls that many people enjoy plus bagels, muffins, yogurt, etc.
