“Great--especially if not a light sleeper”
Reviewed September 5, 2013

Overall enjoyed this hotel--room was most spacious of any RI I have said at and had to great "bonuses" a full stove (i.e. with oven) and fireplace. However it did not satisfy the basic reuqirement for a hotel--place to sleep. I requested a quiet room when I made the reservation and when I checked in. However, my room had a road directly outside the window and even the insects could be heard through the windows, not to mention the cars. ASked for a change but nothing better available. Why could such a nice hotel not have decent windows--ruins all the other great things.

Right in the heart of everything. A mall right down the street, hotel right off the highway and, restaurants galore! Including my favorite, Outback, right behind the hotel. Hospitable staff, clean rooms, very friendly people. We felt right at home and will be back!!!!!!

We stayed as a mid-way point on our long two-day drive from Florida to Missouri. Very clean, wonderful staff, and a great "small-town" feel. I would LOVE to have given it 5 stars, however, there were a couple of unique experiences, which may just have been our particular room, but feel it's worth forewarning someone else who may have that particular room.

They were out of standard rooms and had given us the handicap room on the first level. The second level is where they try and contain pets - we appreciate, coming from severe allergies! Unfortunately, we were able to hear everything from the room above us: walking (heavily) all night, as well as their conversations (showing how paper thin the ceiling is). It was just unfortunate because we were on a 28 hr drive and would have loved to get a good night sleep. It may be a unique experience, but definitely feel it's an important one to bring notice of.

As my husband turned on the shower, there is an additional sprayer (we were told only in the handicap room, so others won't experience this) that automatically comes on. Unfortunately, it was pointed towards the bathroom and sprayed everywhere, soaking the walls and floor. Again, we were told only the handicap shower has this, but it was just one more frustration after a loud nights sleep, as we had soaked clothes to start our road trip ; (

I still rated this hotel a 4 because I feel that our particular room may have been the "cause" to these issues. Other than those unique experiences, it was such a wonderful hospitable home away from home environment! The housekeeper left a card for us, the children had a reading area next to the fireplace, and SUCH a great value! Highly recommend!

Room Tip: Please see our review, we believe our particular room was the "cause" to our issues.

Stayed for business trip. The room was excellent and so was the service. Everyone was so friendly. The meals in the evening were also excellent. Great experience...you will not be disappointed. My wife even commented how clean the place was, all the way into the corners!

Our entire family stayed at the Residence Inn from 6/7-6/10. We were celebrating my parent's 60th wedding anniversary. The staff was more than accommodating, letting us use the meeting room as well as the dining area, when not in use, so we could all be together. All the units were nice and clean. The activity areas, pool, tennis, and basketball courts were all in great shape and provided fun for all. Ms Laurie at the front desk went above and beyond, meeting out needs through out our stay. The daily complimentary breakfast was always very good and the kitchen staff always smiling and friendly even though it was very busy over this weekend. If you have a chance you should visit the Columbus Belmont State Park. It's about 30 minutes west of Paducah on US Route 60 to Hwy 123. That's where we held the celebration festivities. It offers trails, miniature golf, playground and beautiful grounds to walk around. You also get a great view of the Mississippi River. We could have not asked for a better time. Thank you to all the staff at Residence Inn for making this a weekend my parent's (and all of us) will never forget.

We normally stay at this hotel twice a year. Usually nice. but this Saturday night was over run with undiciplined children from multiple familes. Appeared they were at a family gathering. Kids running and screaming thru the halls, popcorn all over the hallways. Kids running and jumping uncontrolled thru out.

Worse part the hot tub was COLD....not warm....I would not even take a bath in water that cold. We alerted management, and they "tried' to turn it up. 4 hours later it was just as cold, other guests were complaining. It was a kids pool. Stuffed with 8-10 kids, beach balls rubber duckies,.....etc.

I blame the management for not controlling the situation. I believe it was easier to please this family renuion group and let the kids take over the ENTIRE POOL AREA ALL AFTERNOON AND NIGHT.

I will not stay at this hotel again. Obviously groups should stay together at a hotel, but management should make the experience acceptable to all.

Room Tip: Poor Managment

Check in was smooth, the receptionist was warm, friendly, provided information we needed, even provided a couple old towels for me to clean my motorcycle. Relaxed in the pool after the long bike ride, then returned to the lobby for a terrific "comfort meal" southerm style. They served quesadillas, beef dip (my favorite), 7-layer bean taco dip that was also delicious, chips and salsa. The appetizers were very freshly made..apparently by a local chef who is qhite good!. We has the king suite room which was plenty roomy, clean, and high quality mattress on the bed. Overall this RI provides a wonderful experience for the traveler.
