This park is just a few miles off I-64 and makes an excellent alternative to Days Inn, Super 8, etc.
The Lodge is closed for part of the winter, and we (two adults and our dog) stayed in one of the cottages. Our off-season rate was about $85 plus $26 for the dog. The cottage is well-equipped with two bedrooms, two baths, kitchen, living room, fireplace with cut wood, and TV. No wi-fi in the cottages, but it is available in the lodge. Only complaint was that there were no paper products in the kitchen, so bring your own paper towels and napkins.
The collages are contemporary style, maybe 10 years old (my guesstimate) and a not super charming, but they are comfortable and the setting is lovely. We had snow and a family of deer gawking at us.
We were breaking up a long two days of driving, so we got in late and left early, with no chance to explore the park. Caving is limited to protect the bats from white nose syndrome, but there are hiking trails and other activities available, albeit limited in the off-season.
