You will be in for a real treat at this aquarium close to downtown Cincinnati but on the opposite side of the Ohio river in Kentucky, A picturesque drive to Newport. The real atraction is the Mighty Mike, the biggest Gator in America. It is leaving soon to some where else...so dont know where exactly it is going as I did not ask. $23 for a General Ticket and additional $25 for having a date with the Penguins (2ft height). The kids got in free because it was the off season which was a plus. That amount $25 is for saving the Penguins from extinctions. They will allow you to take pictures with the penguins. The rainforest looked average and some real quirky frogs in the bog and the frog zone.

The shark rays looked like they were from the dinosaur age. Lots of very big sharks, you can see each of those sharp teeth. You can pet some smaller sharks (about 3 foot long) & other creatures. Beautiful eels, unusual fish, so many kinds of jelly fish, even frogs. They have Caiman, an extra large alligator & some cool crocodiles with the very skinny jaws. l loved it & would go back. Krogers usually has discount tickets for sale.

I have been twice! I took my then 2 year old in 2008 and was very dissatisfied! I swore I wouldn't go again, but a friend brought it up and I decided to take my 2 youngest (2 and 3 years old), thinking that it's been 5 years maybe it's changed and over that time forgetting just how bad it was. I decided to go during family days where 2 kids are free with an adult $23 ticket. We walked the whole thing in less than 2 hours (spent over half an hour watching penguins). My kids were not enthused with it at all. They would have rather stayed at the hotel and been swimming! It is very pricey for the little bit that is there. The zoo costs less and has much much more! We also spent $5 on a small bag of chips and a candy bar!

Ive been to a few aquariums. This has been an average aquarium in my opinion...not worth the money if you go more than once.

The kids got in free because it was the off season which was a plus ( 1 adult was $23). Lots of animals and fish to see. The lady in charge of the penguin parade was very informative and entertaining. The hands on exhibits were very neat. We happened to go on a stroller friendly day, thank goodness, but it was a bit crowded b/c of 2 school field trips.
