Really enjoyed the pub meal in the bistro, salmon was great, and the steak for the mrs was substantial, well sauced, yummy and affordable.
Speant two weeks in Tassie, and of all the seafood/steak in all the pubs in all of the state, the ball and chain declared this numero uno (number 1). Made my life easy for the next couple of days. Thanks Kermandie!!!

Room Tip: eat the salmon (and the steak if you like that sort of thing)

We had a meal in the bistro, and were very satisfied. Yes, you're in a pub, but the salmon (said to be local) was really nice, with a subtle ginger sauce and crispy vegetables. The lamb roast of the day was acceptable enough. The generous serve of apple pie was also good, with the apples still retaining an element of crunchiness. Service was efficient and friendly and prices were reasonable given the high quality.

My husband & I stayed at the Kermandie Lodge and dined nightly at the Kermandie Hotel. We found the lodge comfortable but very basic. Perhaps a bit too basic for $100 a night???
The towels were re-supplied daily but no other cleaning was done during our stay.
We were given a small 3/4 filled bottle of milk upon arrival.
The views across to the Cygnet area were beautiful to look at and the flowers in the lodge grounds were also beautiful.
You can't beat the hotel next door for a easy-to-walk to dinner and the meals were very nice. The Huon Valley Apple Pie is to die for!
The only draw back we found is the road - it carries alot of traffic which is travelling at 80 km/hr.
Geeveston is only a 4 minute drive away and Huonville about 10 mins.
All in all a good stay.

We ordered 400g rump steak with pepper sauce. It came out perfectly cooked with a large side of the most perfectly cooked steamed vegetables and the sace was so good we each ordered an extra jug. The price for the meal was $21 plus $1.60 for the extra Sauce!!

A good but perplexing hotel, it's as if the marketing has got ahead of the substance here! The room was really lovely, recently redecorated in an unfussy, warm style and with a fabulous view of the Huon River and Marina. Very comfortable bed, new TV, and a large and lovely guest room with tea and coffee up the hallway.

However the hotel is on a really busy country highway, so traffic noise was constant til around 9pm and from about 6am. The main bar hasn't been done up at all. The restaurant had good honest country pub meals. There's not much in the way of nearby places to eat. The 'continental breakfast' available (on a 'help yourself' basis) in the guest lounge was reasonable, although the frozen white bread for toast was a bit disappointing! Beware, there's no mobile phone reception with Optus (OK with Telstra I believe), and to our surprise there were no phones in the rooms - but a payphone up the road. Service was friendly but not always entirely competent!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the side of the hotel above the restaurant - to avoid traffic noise.

My husband and I stayed 2 nights in a beautiful queen room at Kermandie Hotel on our recent trek around Tasmania. We were very pleasantly surprised at the welcome we received on arrival, the quiality of the recently refurbished rooms and the food was just amazing. Fantastic staff too! Thank you

Room Tip: Ask for a queen room overlooking the river
