“Great place, but . . .”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 4, 2010

. . . the internet (Ibahn) is horrendous. It only seems to work on parts of the day (evenings are the worst; I can't even get my e-mail). I have been here a week, and I truly do like the place and the people. The hotel is clean, food is good. But if you rely on the internet for your business, (as I do) you might want to rethink a stay here. This place reminds me when I was on dial-up back in the 1970s. I actually had a hard time with this review because the Internet was so sloooooow.

We stayed here one night for a trip to Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom. We have 4 children so we picked the 2 bedroom room. We drove over before Kentucky Kingdom opened and was surprised to be able to check in so early, plus the front office worker informed us we could take the hotel shuttle to the park for free. After our day was over, we called the shuttle which arrived in less than 10 minutes to pick us up. The front desk staff was very helpful and gave us lots of ideas for dinner, even offering to find the delivery person and send him out to the pool since we were there instead of in our room. The girls up front even baked cookies for our children and sent milk with the cookies. The room was HUGE....2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, full kitchen, sleeper sofa, desk and dining room table. We had plenty of room to spread out for the night. Everything was clean and comfortable. There was an alarm going off in the room above us, and when we called the front desk, they sent maintenance out to fix it, and they arrived in 5 minutes! The kids enjoyed the pool, our teens enjoyed having a basketball court (it doubles as a small tennis court as well) We used the patio near the pool for dinner, and someone was using the grill nearby. The whole stay was wonderful and quiet and the staff was amazing!

This is a top notch Residence Inn. We stayed in the "new building." Everything is fresh and new. Furniture is in top shape. Rooms are well appointed. The bathroom countertops are granite and the bed linens are very nice and crisp. Breakfast was fabulous. You can always count on a good mattress and reliable internet at Residence Inn, but this hotel is certainly a top tier Residence Inn. This is a great place to stay for leisure or business.

We fell in love with this hotel while driving by (disappointed that our hotel was under construction and our vacation would be no fun) We called and they had a vacancy for a studio suite! (With kitchen/living room) The price was only $129 and well worth it! We cancelled our other hotel and took this one! It was absolutely perfect...the kids (age 8 & 10) loved it...basketball, swimming, tennis! They even fed us a hot breakfast (buffet) and for supper...a potato bar (with pop, wine and tap beer) and the next night, they grilled out for us on the patio alongside the pool...hotdogs, brats and burgers, also with drinks and sides. I would not hesitate staying here again. It was clean, friendly, comfortable, reasonable, fun...outstanding!

Our extended family group of 13 stayed at Residence Inn by Marriot for a mini-vacation to Kentucky Kingdom. We had a blast. There was plenty for kids from 11-16 to stay busy and well entertained. The staff was friendly, the food great, and the outdoor BBQ area was a great place for us to catch up with one another. We are planning a return visit for the same type of thing next year. We particularly appreciated the shuttle to and from Kentucky Kingdom and the evening hospitality.

I stayed for 10 days while on business and didn't have one problem at all.

The hotel was clean, they have a great breakfast and it's in a good location. Although the airport is right across the freeway and there are jets flying low over the property, you really don't notice it inside the hotel unless you have the window open. They did a really good job insulating the place.

The rooms were plenty big and there was a kitchen in each room. Fridge, microwave, sink & dishwasher. High speed internet also.

The internet was worked on while I was there, but the management let everyone know ahead of time and they offered their own computers at the front desk for anyone who needed them.

I stay in hotels about once a month and I would say this is one of the top places I've stayed. No complaints at all.

I stayed here because the Hotel hosting my board exams down the street was full. Lucky me.

1st: The people were fantastic. From the guy in the van to Mike and Shannon on Sunday afternoon. They were very accomadating about providing transportation whenever necessary.

2nd: The room was great. The hotel is several years old, but you would never know it by looking at my room. Bright, clean and very comfortable. I would've guessed 6-9months old.

3rd: Previous reviewer is right about dining. Very little nearby. However, thanks to #1 it wasn't too bad a problem.

Finally, the people, or did I say that already? This inn was much quieter than the Executive West down the street which was very much in my favor on this trip.

I'll be back!
