On the outer edge of the local attractions - a 1 mile + walk to most fr hotel. Room divine. Restaurants were delicious, but service is slow, so be prepared. Self park is next door and u access hotel via skywalk. Go to valet if you have lots of bags.

We arrived in Louisville and found the hotel and felt we went back in time, the service was amazing and the room detailed very beautifully. They had just put in new mattresses so we got so lucky. The staff takes care of your every wish. We ate in the Grille and with waitress saw be getting ready to leave and asked if I needed anything and she called the doorman and a cab was waiting when we got there. The lobby is just amazing and so well kept. I will visit again.

Room Tip: All the rooms have great room darkening curtains and this was great as you are in the middle of a ci...

Beautiful Historic Hotel in the heart of everything. Rooms are furnished beautifully with very comfortable beds. Walking distance to all the bars on fourth st and great restaurants. Only downfall was no swimming pool.

We took a road trip from New York to Tennessee and decided to treat ourselves and stay at the slightly pricy Brown Hotel in Louisville, Kentucky. What a treat it was! The hotel is absolutely beautiful. You step into the opulent lobby and it feels like you traveled back in time! The rooms are as wonderful - spacious and elegantly decorated but still welcoming. We didn’t eat the hotel (the English Grill’s prices were out of our range…) but we’d like to try the J. Graham’s Café next time. (Tip: Go across the street to the Bluegrass Brewing Company for good food and beer.) The hotel staff was very friendly and service great. The hairdryer in our room did not work well and after I phoned housekeeping, they replaced it in about 5 minutes flat! The hotel is centrally located. It was really lovely staying at the Brown.

Each year, we hold our summer Board of Directors meeting near the home town of the current Chairman. This year, it was Louisville and we selected The Brown Hotel. Here is my analysis:
1) Quick and courteous shuttle from the airport for me, my staff and my Board members;
2) Free wifi in the guest rooms and the meeting rooms
3) Immediate AV support for our meetings
4) Walking distance to 4th Street Live and free evening entertainment.
5) Walking distance and free trolley to the river and the attractions on the river.
6) Tremendous staff response in all instances
7) Friendly, courteous and professional front desk
8) Friendly maid service and early morning cleaning of guest rooms.
I highly recommend for both a business and a personal visit.

We stayed at the Brown for the first time in July. Very impressed with the facility as it is out of the grand hotel age of the early 20th century. The lobby is loaded with marble and wonderful artwork. Our room was a large corner room, with 2 beds and a loveseat in one corner. Plenty of room for us, with our son.

We ate 1 meal in each of their 2 restaurants. The Graham cafe was a disappointment for breakfast. No buffet although it was on the menu, and displayed prominently in the entry way. It was only for a private party, so I ate a $7 bowl of oatmeal. The service was not much better.

On the other extreme was the English Grill for dinner. Must order the hot brown sandwich.

All in all the Brown was a great experience. With a better than great value.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for your thoughts. Pleased to hear you enjoyed our English Grill for dinner.
In our Cafe, the buffet is presented on Saturday and Sundays. We have now updated our menu so that it reads more prominently.
We hope to see you back in the near future.
Regards,
Brad Walker

We choose Brown Hotel for our daughter's wedding . This was the best decision we made by selecting this beautiful hotel. All of our guest loved this hotel very much. Debbie Whitelock is the most energetic even coordinator/ sale director I have the privilege to know. She made the whole wedding event from morning till evening very joyful. She was on top of everything . She took care of our needs with a most beautiful smile. Brown Hotel is very lucky to have her . She welcomed us every time with open arms during our planning stage.

We will highly recommend this hotel for the stay as well as any event.
