SpringHill Suites Louisville Downtown
Ranked #26 of 98 Hotels in Louisville
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed August 10, 2010

Springhill in downtown Louisville shares the lot with a Fairfield, looking like the two wings of a single edification though in fact what is now the Springlill was a later add-on. In the upper levels, some of the floors from each property overlap one another and they both share the same guest laundry room and other facilities.

The property is located between the Convention Center and the hospitals district, and it was obvious these were the main sources of weekday business (they even have a hospital shuttle). The area itself is at the outer edge of the business district next to the freeway, not much immediately around it, but just a 2 and a half block walk to the Convention Center, four to the 4th Street restaurant area; did not feel unsafe moving along those routes in the evenings.

Rooms clean and well appointed, with refrigerator and microwave provided, a sitting area and workstation desk, full bathroom with tub. Minuses include TV has a minimal channel lineup; the relative location of the bed and the combination-unit AC meant the cold air blew right onto your head; the dresser unit inside the already smallish wardrobe took up space for hanging garments.

The complimentary breakfast area was of an appropriate size, well stocked, and with a nice location overlooking Jefferson St.. The "business center" is just one (1) computer with printer, which could get inconvenient for purposes of printing boarding passes if many people are leaving the same day.

Overall if you are in Louisville to take care of business, this is a good choice to make your temporary homebase.

We enjoyed the space offered in our 2 bed suite. The room was clean, orderly and nicely decorated. The breakfast facilities were very good. Service at the front desk was good and they treated our military family very well. We plan on a return stay in August.

booked this hotel on a three way trip which icuded louisville, hershy, pa, and d.c. the setup of the room was weird. the room with the shower was different from the room with the toilet. sink was tiny in the room with the toilet you could barely get your hands in it. the shower was nice but the lightswitch in the showeroom was covered in something i didnt want to come close to. there was some brown stuff all over the walll in the bathroom.there was stains all over the carpet. the hallways smelled bad and the couch in the room was filthy. the beds were clean and comfortable. the service was good and the people at the desk were polite but the janitor was so rude we walked through when he was mopping and he said something under his breath i couldnt make out. the parking lot was also filthy. i do not recommend this hotel

All of us at the Springhill Suites want to say we are sorry you did not enjoy your stay, The lay out of the bathroom with separate shower and sink and toilet and sink is something that guest have asked for over the years. We missed our goal of a Friendly and spotless hotel during your stay. As for rude associates we have met with all staff members to share your comments. We take service very serious and we hope to have an opportunity to showcase our service to you in the future.

well first off i used hotels.com to book this room and picked a smoking room, upon arrival i was informed they have no smoking rooms, hotel is smoke free even though my print out confirmation states smoking room right on it. they have no ice machine in the hotel, have to walk to next door hotel to get ice, that sucks when you have a cooler full of beer in it. when we went to park our car i was informed they have a 9 dollar a day parking fee required to use it. all local hotels nearby have big signs up free parking in garage for paying hotel guests, but not this hotel. sorry its our policy was all i got when i asked about this. the rooms are very nice as well as the other facility but these few things gave me a bad taste overall for the hotel, not impressed when i had to walk 10 minutes with a cooler just for some ice.

We stumbled onto this hotel en route to West Virginia. The rooms are large and very clean. Avoid staying on the 9th floor; the roof top air conditioning units hum loudly and depending on where we stood in our room the noise was very annoying. Management needs to investigate better soundproofing. The breakfast buffet was average. This is yet another hotel that has gone "trendy" with a "hip" look. If you are a AAA member, you can't beat the walk-up rate (which was $25 less than the on-line rate). Also, very close to all of the downtown attractions.

3 adults stayed at SpringHill suites in downtown Louisville one night. Room was spacious (2 Q beds plus large sofa in suite).Could have easily accomodated family with 4 children. Everything clean and new--fridge & mcrowave, indoor pool. LOVED the split bath--toilet and mini-sink separated from shower and large sink counter. $9 parking but could go in and out. Ate dinner nearby at old spaghetti factory. Spent 3 hours at Frazier international history museum--what a treasure! Walked around the waterfront park-saw the Belle of Louisville. Wished we could have stayed longer.

I recently spent a couple of weekend nights at the is SpringHill location. It's located on what I would consider the fringe of downtown Louisville. If you are not afraid to walk, this location won't be a problem if you plan to visit the typical downtown tourist destinations. Interstate highway access is very good. This was my first time staying at a SpringHill property. I was very impressed. The staff did a fine job. The rooms are a bit different from standard hotel room. The toilet is located in a separate room with a small wash stand. There is no tub, just a shower. The king room had a pull out couch. For the sake of comfort I would suggest that no more than four people occupy this room. The breakfast dining space is located on the second floor. The space is nice, the food is fine. There were four hot items available, along with a standard assortment of cold items. There is a $9 parking fee in an attached garage that has no direct access to the hotel. (There is no charge to park across the street at the Hampton Inn property.)
