“Delightful Dining”
Reviewed February 22, 2013

Our 'Ladies Who Lunch' trio visited Corbett's shortly before noon on a Friday and received immediate seating. Two of us selected appetizers including Crab & Seafood Cakes with Roasted Red Pepper Remoulade and Tarragon Vinaigrette in addition to a Bibb Salad with Roasted Butternut Squash, Candied Pepitas, Parsnip Chips and a Rosemary-Yogurt Vinaigrette. My friend pretty much inhaled the crab cakes eating every crumb. The Vinaigrette on my salad was light and subtle, allowing the flavors of all the accompaniments to come through.

Entrees included Housemade Meatloaf with Truffle Mashed Potatoes and Kale Greens, Blackened Shrimp with Parmesan Grits, Chorizo, Peppers, Onions and Shrimp Bisque, and a Hot Brown served on Focaccia Bread. My friend who inhaled the Crab Cakes wasn't as approving of the Meatloaf. She was expecting something similar to her grandmother's meatloaf and Southern Greens and couldn't quite appreciate the different flavors. My other friend demolished her Hot Brown and I followed suit with my Shrimp and Grits. I would have appreciated a little more Chorizo which provided just the right amount of spice.

Only one of us chose to eat dessert, I believe it was the Chocolate Brownie with Ice Cream. She was especially fond of the ice cream which she swore had a bourbon flavor.

The total bill for two appetizers, two drinks, three entrees, and one dessert with tax came to about $81.00 not including tips.

“We will be returning!”
Reviewed January 26, 2013 via mobile

We happened to be on the east side, and we are in the process of completing the urban bourbon trail, so we stopped in. There were no tables available in the main dining room, but there were plenty in the wineskeller downstairs. This turned out to be a good thing; we went in on a whim, and were certainly not dressed for the main dining room. The entire building was absolutely beautiful, and the basement was no exception. Exposed stone walls, old wooden floor trusses above, stone flooring. The food was just as superb as the building. We had the lobster tail appetizer and the beef short rib appetizer. Corbett's is comparable to Jack Fry's and Rivue. It is wonderful, and we had wonderful service as well. I highly recommend it and will be returning.

“Corbett's for lunch”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

Excellent Bloody Mary's. Best calamari ever as appetizer. Plenty for two to share. Done to perfection. Delicious salads. Also best pesto sauce and linguini we ever ate. Great wine selection. We had Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand. Excellent service. Relax and enjoy a leisurely meal.

“Love this place”

So close to my home is one of my louisville favorites. While a bit pricier, the quality, service and atmosphere are the best!

“High Dining”
Reviewed January 9, 2013

Food was very good, and so was service. Bit on the pricey side, but that's to be expected. Inventive cuisine in a nice environment.
