The Queue is a regular stop for lunch. The staff is very helpful and the food is great. The service is fast so you don't feel rushed to get back to work.

A restaurant should be successful at their concept. A German restaurant should excel in serving hot German food and beer in a German-style atmosphere. Upscale chic should deliver the goods with great wait staff and tantalizing dishes. A deli serving during lunch hours should serve great food fast and on a budget. Queue does that and has been doing that for several years. Upbeat and contemporary design in the corner of the ground floor of the LG&E Building. Don't let the long lines fool you if you get there between 12:30 and 1. The Queue team can handle a line of 20-30 in about 10 minutes. They are great at getting your order quickly and filling your order just as fast. The food is great. Daily specials include usually a stuffed potato on Thursdays, and each other day the daily specials vary. It's not a plate-lunch place. They specialize in sandwiches. The average price is around $5 and that includes a side of either fruit or pasta salad. Compare that to the new place just opened at the Galt House east across the street. The 321deli. A ham and swiss on sourdough is $8.50. No side. I bought it. It was just regular thin sliced bread, not sourdough as listed. And it was about 1/2 the size of the same sandwich at Queue. With no free side included. And $3.50 more. Huh? What? The ingredients at Queue are always A+ tasty. Open your carefully wrapped Queue sandwich prepared by the owner and wrapped by his wife and you'll see just how good it is. Everything they do is A+. Plus they are friendly, nice, and always smile. Everything a downtown sandwich deli should be and more and at a great price. The Queue in the lower level of the LG&E Building 3rd and Main across from YUM Center.
