My husband and I recently enjoyed a tour of the Conrad-Caldwell House while visiting Louisville. It's located in what I think is the most beautiful part of town, Old Louisville, with its many beautiful old mansions. Our tour guide was a family member who infused the tour with lots of family anecdotes. The house is beautifully maintained and has exquisite parquet floors (all different and based on quilt patterns), carved wooden tracery, and wall coverings. I would recommend a visit and a walk around the charming neighborhood. We had no trouble finding free on-street parking.
