Ok, we were blown away. This was simply a great experience, from the gorgeous house to the delicious breakfast . This was a 10 star trip.

We had our wedding at the Rocking Horse in their beautiful courtyard and words can't describe how wounderful it was. Everything was perfect and Richard made sure we were stress free. Our room which was the Victorian Suite was much more than we expected for the price. We felt like and was treated like royalty. My mother which is very hard to please was in tears of joy over the whole event. We will be back on our anniversary year after year!! Thank you both.

I agree with all reviews, except one, and I can add that this is absolutely the best B&B we have ever stayed at. Richard will make sure that your every need is fulfilled. The mint on the pillow when we returned from dinner was a nice touch. We were so close to everything. The victorians homes in the area are gems. Alot of them are being restored and it will be nice to see them next year. It's nice to see a downtown area being revived where so many are dying. Thank you for your kind and gracious hospitality.

My wife and I stayed for two nights over memorial day weekend. The House was beautiful and the rooms were extremely comfortable. We had 2 relaxing nights of sleep. The neighborhood is a lot of fun to explore. Although the weather was bad on Sunday Ed and Rick kept everyone posted on the tornado sirens going off and what we would need to do in case we need to seek shelter. Beautiful and well maintained backyard. Plenty of room to spread out and relax.
Breakfast was outstanding, 2 courses, very filling.
It was well worth the $109 per night.
Pick up a candle when you check out!
We will be returning, hopefully sooner than later.

Unfortunately, never got a chance to stay there....however we were VERY disappointed with the decision of the management to lecture us based on our late cancellation.

We could not make the trip due to a family emergency and called to cancel. We realized that we were not within the cancellation guidelines (and we were hoping for some leeway on the cancellation policy), however we were not prepared to receive a lecture on how they need to make money and how we were putting them in a tremendous bind. Never once did they ask if everything was all right, or if they could help in any way.

At this point, we said we'd pay for the night's stay, but the lecture continued. The message from the management got lost in the condescending and rude delivery. We finally just said charge us and hung up.

Needless to say, next time we are in Louisville, this "professional" hotel will not be on our list.

These people were due to check in at 3pm and called at 5pm and was already on the defensive when I answered the phone. They were very upset to realize that they would be charged and never did they offer payment. She was very rude from the start to the finish telling me when to speak and not to speak and referring to us as a hotel. We will share their name with all the areas B&B's to deter future problems.

This bed and breakfast is absolutely the finest we have ever stayed in. My wife is very picky and she could not find one thing to complain about. They are only 10 blocks from the river downtown and 5 blocks from fourth street live. We went to Churchhill Downs which was only a mile or so away. My daughter goes to University of Louisville and that is only 9 blocks down third st. So this choice was not only a good one for convenience but also for 5 star accommodations and service. Breakfast was so wonderful and their courtyard with the four tier fountain was great. See you in the Fall.

My husband and I came to Louisville for our sons graduation at Ft Knox and we decided to stay in a bed and breakfast instead of a hotel and the choice was great. The host's were so accommodating and the house is indescribable. We are now sold on b&b's and it will be hard to match the rocking horse. Thank you for a great stay.
