My wife and I spent an overnight here in late August. We were looking for a relaxed evening after a day of driving and our expectations were rewarded handsomely. Our host, John was very helpful in calling to reroute us because a triathlon had closed his street. He also found us a place to dine in town when we arrived late. The accommodations and Victoriana accents throughout the home made our stay a delight. I not only recommend The Rocking Horse highly, I plan to look for it again when we next pass through Louisville.

My girlfriend made me research B&B reviews and prices for 2 hours. Just save yourself the time and pick this one. It is the best B&B we have ever seen. The mansion is amazingly restored and decorated with attention to details. Our room was clean, quiet, and cozy. The breakfast was delicious and we are both people that enjoy fine foods. Their website needs work, but then again you're not staying at a website. The location is close to down town Louisville. We walked the area and saw some great homes and architecture. Again... just save yourself the time and go with the Rocking Horse Manor. It's the best.

This 1880 mansion is quite something - love the Victorian decor, and there is something of interest round every corner. We were made to feel completely at home by our hosts John & Ricardo, and encouraged to use the public areas, so we stayed in the upstairs sitting room and watched a dvd the first night, having made ourselves a coffee. Cookies, chips, fruit and soft drinks were also available to us if required. The elegance of the place is wonderful, and breakfast is served with beautiful crystal glassware and golden platters to rest the plates on. Two hot choices for breakfast were very filling and we were served attentively. John gave us a guided tour of the house when we arrived, a map of the area and suggestions of good places to see while we were here. Our room was huge with big high ceilings and a sweet bathrooom. I felt really pleased we chose this place to stay!

I chose the Rocking Horse Manor B&B based on reviews, price and location and was not disappointed! Historic preservation is my career, and I was very impressed with the manor itself - a beautifully restored Victorian home with loads of history. The owners were friendly, helpful and a joy to chat with. Their suggestions of places to see and eat at around the neighborhood and throughout Louisville were wonderful. We stayed in Chelsea's Garden where everything was very clean, comfortable and extremely well-appointed (same goes for the whole place). There was a pretty bad thunderstorm that rolled through the area late during the night we stayed there and it was all over the news but when it actually hit, we were surprised at how quiet it seemed - a testament to the thick walls of the solid structure. The claw foot tub was a real treat, and we were really able to unwind and relax at the Rocking Horse Manor. Breakfast was delicious - a fruit and granola yogurt parfait, warm crumb cake, a beautiful egg and cheese souffle, ham and potatoes, juice, coffee, newspapers, etc. served very elegantly. We will definitely be staying here next time we come to Louisville!

You can't go wrong staying at this charming Victorian in the heart of Old Louisville. Innkeepers John and Ricardo are consummate hosts and thoughtful, friendly folks to boot. John's knowledge of the area and its history provided lots of sightseeing ideas. In particular, he recommended we dine at nearby Buck's and it was well worth the expense. Great stay in an elegant, old-world atmoshpere. Don't miss it!

We had a wonderful stay! This is a beautiful bed and breakfast located in the charming old Louisville section of town. Beautifully restored! It was a great location close to many of the great Louisville sights. John and Ricardo were wonderfully welcoming and accomodating. They offered wonderful suggestions as to where to eat, what to see, and told us some of the local history. This greatly enhanced our visit! What a wonderful place to stay.
