Owner description: The Belle of Louisville is the oldest operating Mississippi River style steamboat in the world. She and her sister vessel, the Mary M. Miller riverboat offer river cruises perfect for all ages. We offer cruises nearly year-round, and have special events throughout the season. The Mary M. Miller replaced the Spirit of Jefferson in July of 2017. She is named after the First Female Steamboat Captain. The Mary M Miller is not a steamboat but she does have a paddlewheel. She is climate controlled and has 2 indoor decks and a top deck under cover but open air.

We had the dinner cruise on the Spirit of Jefferson. The food was excellent although pricey. The D.J. was very entertaining and the staff very friendly can't wait to go again

I hate to give a bad review, because it is so cool that the 100-year-old Belle is still being used. We went on Easter, and did not do the brunch. We paid for the supposed sightseeing tour. But rather than get a narrated tour of any kind, the only thing we heard over the PA system was info about the buffet downstairs, including silly DJ patter about doing the chicken dance, who was having a birthday, buffet info, etc. Bad enough to have to listen to that when you are actually at the party!

Perhaps the half hour sightseeing only tour is better, but that wasn't offered any of the days we were in town. We sailed along the industrial Ohio river, which is frankly not very picturesque. It is historically interesting, and interesting in terms of the industries that currently use the river. And Louisville itself has cool history and architecture. But appreciating these things requires context--exactly what a good sightseeing tour could give us. Compared to other sightseeing tours, the cost is quite reasonable, but it's still not worth the money.

Please do not purchase tickets here unless you are 100% sure of taking the cruise. They are non refundable, hurricane Sandy included. We notified the Belle we could not attend as we had gone back to our hometown to assist with preparations. They would not even offer a comparable ticket for a later cruise.

No thanks, will never waste that money again.

*I don't know how much this usually costs* but our organization sold tickets for a group outing at our convention... and it probably wasn't worth the $35 they charged us. That said, I think the extra money was for a good cause and I enjoyed myself. There was music and a cash bar inside and quiet conversation and evening city views outside.

I love the cruises down the Ohio river. A couple years ago, I attended a Halloween cruise. With everyone dressed in customs cruising down the river, listening to music and having drink. Watching the sun set over Louisville and liking at all the lights at night. It was absolutely beautiful
