Owner description: The Frazier History Museum is a world-class museum that provides an unforgettable journey through history with ever-changing and interactive exhibits, daily performances by costumed interpreters and engaging special events and programs. To complement our amazing permanent collection, which includes thousands of items from famous world leaders and one of the country's largest toy soldier displays, the Frazier Museum offers an ever-changing selection of intriguing temporary exhibits. Every day, we offer live historic performances, bringing visitors face to face with some of the people and events that changed the world forever, as well as with average people whose moving and important stories you've probably never heard. The Frazier Museum is located on downtown Louisville's "Museum Row" in a beautiful 100,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility originally called the "Doerhoefer Building," a late 19th century, Chicago-style commercial structure. The Frazier Museum has three floors of exhibits, an education center, Museum Store and tournament ring, as well as event spaces available for rent, including a beautiful Rooftop Garden featuring seasonal blooming flowers and our Fourth Floor Loft space that accommodates up to 360 people seated.

“Interesting, but don't go if your not planning on reading.”

I have been to this museam twice, once in second grade and once this summer. It is a very nice museam, but it is very easy to rush through. Make sure you read the displays or else you won't get your money's worth. Overall, it is a very fascinating place. I escpecilly like the History of Europe and the Mythical Creatures exhibit. Wouldn't take small children, as they may get bored.

This museum was a funny collection of things. We enjoyed the collections of miniature soldiers, from Ancient Egyptians to Civil War troops. There was also Christmas trees from many different countries, decorated in a manner traditional for that country. We enjoyed a display of fencing! First we were shown the swordplaay in slow motion, while the male and female performing explained each move and counter move. Then they did the whole thing again at regular speed! Very entertaining! The gift shop was also excellent, and we bought a few 'last minute' Xmas gifts there, such as a Salvadore Dali 'melting clock', and a set of 'pro and con' coffee mugs with pictures and messages from early 'broadsides' for and aginst the "new" coffee drinking craze in England!!

“Great Museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 16, 2013

Museum has a lot of attractions to look at and will take a few hours to go through the three floors- plan at least 2 hours for sure. Lots of interesting stuff and a neat little gift shop. Lots of informative displays and great big attractions along with hands on demonstrations. A little pricey for regular admission but can put it towards membership. Will go again in the near future.

“Mystic Creatures exhibit was really cool!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2013

Loved the special exhibit. Spent most of our time there. If you like medieval or Renaissance weaponry you should love it. The History floor with Lewis and Clark I was not very impressed with. It may have been good but it lacked more of a 3d feel to it. More artifacts, etc would have been nice. A lot of reading it seemed, less artifacts. We went on wed when they had a "musuem day or evening special " for half price but if yyou look around you can get discount tickets.

“An antique firearm's enthusiasts delight.”

The Frazier offers the visitor a fascinating walk through history using some great antique firearms as a guide. The Royal Armouries exhibit on the third floor is a good time and instructive for children and adults alike.
