Owner description: The Frazier History Museum is a world-class museum that provides an unforgettable journey through history with ever-changing and interactive exhibits, daily performances by costumed interpreters and engaging special events and programs. To complement our amazing permanent collection, which includes thousands of items from famous world leaders and one of the country's largest toy soldier displays, the Frazier Museum offers an ever-changing selection of intriguing temporary exhibits. Every day, we offer live historic performances, bringing visitors face to face with some of the people and events that changed the world forever, as well as with average people whose moving and important stories you've probably never heard. The Frazier Museum is located on downtown Louisville's "Museum Row" in a beautiful 100,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility originally called the "Doerhoefer Building," a late 19th century, Chicago-style commercial structure. The Frazier Museum has three floors of exhibits, an education center, Museum Store and tournament ring, as well as event spaces available for rent, including a beautiful Rooftop Garden featuring seasonal blooming flowers and our Fourth Floor Loft space that accommodates up to 360 people seated.

“so much to offer”
Reviewed October 6, 2012

Loved the Princess Diana showing. It was so much to see in that collection.
My husband loved the rest of the museum, esp. the history floor.
We need to go back because there is so much to see.

“Diana exhibit was awesome”
Reviewed October 5, 2012

This place is across the street from the Louisville Slugger museum,it is awesome! I live in Northern Va. And have been to the NRA museum several times, this place is better! The whole museum is weaponry related and they have tons of body armor and swords. The firearm collection is amazing and rivals the NRA collection. They have a live sword fighting demonstration as well. The Lady Diana section was awesome and my wife was thrilled to see her actual wedding dress, and old home movies from her childhood.Dont miss this when in louisville

“Special Exhibits”
Reviewed October 5, 2012

I recently visited with 3 other friends. We went specifically to see the Diana exhibit but I was entranced by all the other historical information available. I was, however, a little concerned with the fact that most of the exhibits were regarding the wars of history. I assumed Mr. Frazier was a weapons collector since he started the muesum from his collections. I would like to see them incorporate some other areas of history in the future.

Overall it is a great place to spend a few hours with family and or friends.

“Top military history museum in the USA”
Reviewed October 4, 2012

There is little to find fault with at the Frazier. Inside you will find a great open area floor plan, superbly suited to display historical arms. Many displays feature manequins of men and horses in full armor, with weaponry. The collection is simply amazing, and there are too many important items to mention. One of my favorites was Teddy Rosevelts rifle "the Big Stick", from his famous line "Speak softly but carry a big stick". I visited during the Samurai exhibition, which was the top such exhibition I have ever seen outside of Japan. A trip to Louisville is not complete without a trip to this museum. Brilliant and very, very educational.
