The Muhammad Ali center is conveniently located near the river in downtown Louisville with a good choice of parking. We had a leaflet from the hotel which gave us $2 discount per person on the $9 entry fee.
The center provides a comprehensive collection of exhibits and multimedia content on Ali - covering both his professional career and his personal story linking the Civil Rights movement and his refusal to be drafted.
It was inspirational content aimed at both sports fans and those interest in recent American history. The self guided tour and introductory film took about 2 hours

This center is quite unique and not like most museums. Of course, the center has photos, movies, and momentos that portray the life of Muhammad Ali, originally Cassius Clay. This is a place that all ages will enjoy. You will be pleasantly surprised by what you will see in this wonderful center.

Once we found this museum we had an awesome time. The museum is located near the expressway close to the water, but it has it's own covered parking lot, a real plus in Louisville.

This museum is designed so that you begin on the 5th floor and work your way down. The orientation movie reminds you of the man. The museum is crafted around 6 important principles and as you travel from space to space they delve more into the concept.

A visit at this museum is not just a look into his life but also a reminder of our countries changes in the area of segregation.. This museum tells its' stories by using hundreds of clips and quotes. There are hands on areas for children to experience a global attitude.

The Muhammad Ali Center is very interesting. I wish I had had more time, but we arrived 45 minutes before closing. Also, I had the unfortunate experience of going through at the same time a group of about 10 kids who felt they were the only ones allowed to view anything. The museum itself had a lot of interesting items about Ali, the boxer and the activist. It has several levels and several interactive displays. It's worth visiting.

Love boxing but this museum is about more then Ali's boxing career - it gives you history of minority struggle, courage and fight. Tour is reasonably price (way cheaper then Chicago prices we are used to paying), it starts with a short 15 min. Video and then a self guided tour - we have 6 kids ages 8-17 and all enjoyed. Lots of hands on exhibits.
