With Louisville being such a "foodie" town one would think that there would be several Italian selections worth choosing. There aren't. Martin's has awesome and hugely portioned lasagna. It's really one of the best items on the menu. They have a great happy hour with $5 martinis and there is a huge and yummy selection. Service is good but get reservations, especially on the weekends.

This was our second visit to this restaurant in 3 years. Our teenage grandson chose it for our recent dinner together. It is a lovely, quiet place with excellent service and attention. We each ordered a different dish and all were excellent as were the salads.

We have been to Martini's several time and both the food and service have consistently been very good except for one night when the server seemed to go on break every time we needed something, an experience that is not typical. We have enjoyed it enough that we have taken advantage of the deal that Costco offers of buying a $100. gift card for $80. several times and have also taken my son and daughter-in-law, both of whom also enjoyed it. I like fried mozzarella (Breaded Cheese Sticks) as an appetizer and their version was hot with a nice crust, not greasy, and served with marinara. The Spinach Al Forno was also delicious - hot, gooey and just yummy! As a vegetarian, I have tried the Eggplant Parmesan, Margherita Pizza, and Mediterranean Pasta which is a mix of vegetables in a garlic and white wine sauce , none of which was a disappointment. My husband has tried the Filet Gorgonzola, Tuscan Ribeye, Shrimp Scampi and Shrimp and Lobster Al Forno, each one enjoyed. Martini's is one of the few places where we consistently save room for dessert. Their Tower of Pisa is amazing! Think Oreo meets Reese Cup in the freezer except better. This is definitely a dessert for two. Great food, good service, nice atmosphere. Also check out the Italian quotes around the top of the walls. Upon request your waiter/waitress will provide you with a written translation. The only improvement could be in padding the very hard chairs.

My wife and I ate dinner last night at Martini's. I wasn't really that hungry, so I just ordered a pasta dish. I chose the Bolognese and it was outstanding! The order was plenty for me and it is just the
perfect comfort food. My wife's pasta was topped with summer vegetables and she loved it. It was big enough that she took what was leftover home for lunch. Service was very good, too. This place is a real value.
