Having seen and the great reviews on MBB, my wife and I decided to check it out for lunch. We went about 2:00 on a Saturday, figuring that was the best way to avoid the crowds. As it turned out, that was a good idea.
We shared the short rib nachos and mussels Basquaise as appetizers. The nachos were good, but not outstanding as some other reviews had noted. However, the mussels were delicious. Although it only came with 12 mussels, the sauce is what really made the dish. It was made up of chorizo, garlic, and several other spices. We asked for spoons to make sure we didn't leave any sauce behind; it's addictive!
For our entree, we split the Argentinian burger and french fries in truffle oil. Both were excellent. The burger came with provolone and chimichurri sauce, an unusual mixture for a burger but sure worked well together. Burger was huge and was only the "lunch" size, according to our server. She said the dinner size was even bigger. The fries arrived with a truffle aioli dipping sauce and were excellent.
We didn't have room for dessert but would like to try the bacon beignets on our next visit. Our server, Jennifer, did a great job. She was friendly, helpful, and seemed to know the menu well. Total bill came to about $34 plus tax. We look forward to our next stop at MBB.
