We were looking for somewhere other than the usual B-town road, Frankfort Ave, etc restaurants and found this on trip advisor. The food and service was great! Everything we ate was flavorful and fresh. We had everything from tempura vegetables to quinoa salad (excellent) and beef and seafood for our entrees. Service is very relaxed but excellent. Loved the contrast between the old brick interior and the modern sleek open kitchen. Definitely worth trying! We will be sure to return.

Thank you, fellow Trip Advisor reviewers. Based upon your reviews, we decided to try Rye for our final dinner in Louisville. It was a very good decision. It is very casual -- servers wear jeans, t-shirts, and athletic shoes. There is a bit of an odd juxtaposition between the laid-back and comfortable attire and the food which is very refined. Bread started the meal. The rolls were warm and served with a sea-salted butter. Yeasty and rich. Hubby had salmon and said it was perfectly cooked -- crispy exterior and juicy interior. I am a sucker for a well cooked duck. It's not a dish I find well-prepared very often and this one was superb. Dessert was the "Fat Elvis" -- kind of a de-constructed Butterfinger Bar with macerated bananas and salted caramel. Yummy. Very strong decaf coffee for dessert, but I like my coffee strong, so perfect for me. Finally, even though it's not important in the greater scheme of things, I did enjoy the witty names of some of the items on the menu.

The atmosphere is old building meets Nulu vibe. The servers are casual but very professional. We had the salmon and the braised beef entrees. Both were really good.
The butternut squash risotto was fabulous.
Also the cocktail menu is very extensive. Also if in doubt, the well informed servers will steer you with their knowledge of everything.

What a great reuse for this old building in the newly redeveloping neighborhood of NuLu. The limited menu reflects the seasonal offerings of the local agriculture. We enjoyed the oysters, quinoa salad with roasted pumpkin, tuna and char. For dessert, we shared the excellent cheese board and a glass of bourbon (what else?!). The service was good and the exposed brick and contemporarily furnished dining room was comfortable. All in all, a pleasant experience.

Our first time here based on Trip Advisor reviews. The food was delicious and very creative. I had a small plate of cauliflower that was fantastic. Great wine selection. Our only complaint is that the waitress served our main dishes after we had barely finished our apps. Didn't give us a chance to rest between courses. Therefore I couldn't finish my wonderful meal because I was too full. Desserts weren't very interesting so we skipped those. But all in all we would go back.
