My spouse and I travel a lot and I have to honestly say the staff and owner of this hotel is by far the best around. They made our trip the most wonderful experience one could ask for. The front desk is very helpful and continental breakfast was great. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone in the Louisville area whether it be for business or pleasure. We were amazed on how nice and clean the hotel is (now a days its hard to find one up to our standards) This La Quinta is one of our favorite hotels and out shines any others we have stayed in. Thank you for your kindness and making our trip amazing, it would have not been the same if we had chose a different hotel. I recommend this hotel if you are looking for a clean, kind and friendly place to lay your head.

At this "100% non-smoking" hotel, cigarette smoke blew into our room via the bathroom vent. We reported the smoke to the hotel staff. Instead of apologizing for the problem and offering a gesture of hospitality, no matter how small, the hotel owner completely dismissed us. He denied that smoke could be in our room because he and his staff could not smell it in the hallway. Clearly, this owner has no sense of customer service. Immediately outside of the lobby door to the back parking lot is a covered smoking section. The smoke has no where to go but inside the building.

We appreciate your comments on our hotel, however it is necessary for us
to address what we take as serious allegations by you about the service
at this hotel. We pride ourselves on our service and the overall hotel
itself. You will note that yours is the first negative comment we have
received in 2 years and this is the first to question our level of
service and integrity.We would like to clarify the chain of events for
those others who will read this review.

You advised our Front Desk about smoke the morning before you checked
out. The front desk service representative advised you that the manager
would have to talk to you regarding the adjustment in price that you
requested. The owner called your room as your requested. The owner
left a message for you to call him back because you did not answer your
phone. When your husband checked out, he asked about "the price
adjustment" (there was never any discussion with management about an
adjustment). He said, "If she wants to discuss it, she will come back
in." You never came back in. When you phoned the hotel 30 minutes
later, the owner spoke to you and tried to discuss the issue with you
until you hung up on him. You indicated rather gruffly how awful the
smell of smoke was in that room. Our best efforts were made to identify
any source of smoke smell or any smoke at all in the hallway or rooms
surrounding yours. We have an expensive top of the line system that
constantly draws air out of each room that prevents this type of issue.
We even describe to you how the systems works in your room. Our research
found no smell of smoke in the area at all and our air filtration system
was running fine. We wish you had addressed this with us when you first
had the problem. Waiting until checkout makes it impossible for us to
make the situation right. We would have gladly changed your room to make
you more comfortable.

We are in the "Hospitality" business and believe in outstanding guest
service. The fact that you rate us a 1 "terrible" on Trip Advisor is a
blatant misrepresentation of this hotel. The fact that you did not
convey your complaint prior to checkout day and your first "demand"
was for a refund or some type of compensation, leads us to believe no
level of service would have made your stay more enjoyable

My husband lost an arm in Vietnam and now is on a scooter with a broken foot. He would go earlier than I would for breakfast. The ladies helped him with the food. They are very friendly and make the guests feel very welcome. I saw the ladies helping anyone who needed help. This is the third year that we have stayed there. They changed the hour of breakfast earlier on Saturday and Sunday to accomodate the guests.

Our stay at the La Quinta was very enjoyable. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. We would recommend La Quinta to everyone.

The best thing about this hotel were the staff. All friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and spacious. If you want to be by the airport, or Churchill Downs, this is a good bet. However, if you want night life or shopping you are not near it. There is not much along the street. However, a couple blocks up is an Aldi grocery store where you can pick up basics (actually more than basics, it's German owned, so you can get European cookies, chocolates and biscuits!). And next to the hotel is a wonderful little bar where the Sam Adams and Nut Brown Ale are $3.25. The barkeep is really sweet and will keep your bowl of popcorn full. My only bad experience was not with the hotel, but with the totally crooked taxi drivers. Ask the front desk to line you up with a taxi company.

The "Award Winning" Airport & Expo LaQuinta Inn & Suites thanks you for posting your review. You mention our greatest asset first, the Staff, which we are so proud of, does an excellent job.
As for the shopping and dining; there is little choice within walking distance, however, due to our central location, any restaurant, shop or attraction is just a short drive (less than 15 minutes). We do offer complimentary shuttle service to-and-from the Downtown entertainment distrct, "Fourth Street Live", every evening. We hope to see you on your next visit to Louisville.

Our son attends the University of Louisville and we were looking for a location that we could bring our family dog and visit our son on gameday weekends. We love this location just off the Waterson. The staff is most friendly and welcomes with graciousness our pet. The large area for dogs behind the hotel is wonderful. We also found the rooms to be large and the layout very nice to eat a meal together after the game. that we prepared ahead of time. We've also found the hotel to be quiet even when at full occupancy.

You mention items that were "must haves" on the owner's design plan: great location, oversized guest rooms, extrawide hallways, sound abatement and plenty of room for man's best friend to "relax". We feel our greatest asset is the Staff, they provide the friendliness and cleanliness that contributes to our #2 rating on TripAdvisor, nobody said we can't act like a Five Star Hotel. Very nice Louisville moderately-priced hotel. The location is a good one for getting to any part of town. The breakfast was a good one.
