We spent two nights at this hotel and the experience was wonderful. The staff was friendly and courteous. The room was large, comfortable and very clean. We enjoyed the breakfast, which included donuts, biscuits and gravy, fresh fruit and good coffee. We will stay there again when in the area.

This year my wife and I visited Louisville for the Kentucky Derby. This was our first time and we had no idea as to the lay of the land or what hotel would be best to stay in. We ended up choosing to stay at the La Quinta and couldnt have been more pleased! The hotel was perfectly situated between the airport, the exposistion center and the racetrack which made getting to and from the hotel a breeze...even though we didnt have to drive anywhere due to the complimentary shuttle service! Our room was very spacious and was kept immaculately clean during our stay. Hats off to the housekeeping staff. My wife loved the full-sized in-room coffee pot and I appreciated having a refrigerator and microwave. The front desk staff was always smiling and very helpful answering all of our "tourist" questions! This hotel has a huge breakfast bar unlike most we've seen during our stays at other hotels. I also noticed how beautifully landscaped the grounds were...that really added an elegant look to the hotel. There was also a new outdoor pool calling my name but unfortunately it was just a little too cold to swim. We will definitely stay at this hotel again. A bargain and a hidden gem.

We stayed at this LaQuinta 3 times in 2008 as we used to live in Louisville & return for Doctors, shopping, or visits. The last time was 10/15/08. It was a lovely stay each time with quiet clean rooms & friendly staff that was patient with our questions.

Once I was stranded 3 hours there between appointments so I watched tv in that coffee area & read a book - thoroughly enjoyed myself. Coffee was good and available 24/7.
As others have said, the breakfast lady was A+++ Terrific. I hope she's still there.

Also, we ate at the Bob Evans close by for lunch or dinner which was convenient and good.

All 3 times we never noticed any bugs - always found it so clean and pleasant. To us, it is equal or better than the other 2 main motels/hotels we stay at with a more high-end expensive chain, but this one excels by never being arrogant ---with a staff that is always sincere and helpful or even fun.

I've not been there in 2009 yet, but I would stay there again.

We found bedbugs in both beds in room 220. The bed linen was filthy. Front desk person changed our room to first floor and took $20.00 off the bill. I won't be staying at their property again.
On the positive side, the breakfast staff was very helpful.

We stayed at La Quinta the weekend from Dec. 11-14 and were very pleased. Check-in was a breeze with a very friendly and helpful staff. The room itself was huge and had a small kitchen-type sink, nice sized fridge and full-sized (!!!) coffee pot. If you're a coffee drinker then you already understand how important that is!

The bathroom is separated, with the sink outside of the other area. We had a room with two queen beds and a great sized desk. Everything was clean and comfortable. Air worked. No noise in the hallways that we could detect.

Breakfast was was good, although all we ever ate was waffles and juice and coffee.

Three vehicles did get broken into one night but were parked in the very back of the building's lot. This is not a bad neighborhood, it's just one of those things that happen when you park in a dimly lit back parking lot that's not monitored.

This is a perfect hotel to stay in if you are interested in going to Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom, or anything going on at the Fair and Expo Center (concerts, flea markets, etc.) You can literally be to that area in 5 minutes.

We stayed at this hotel for a week in October while at a show at the KY Expo Center. It is only 5 minutes away from the Expo. The hotel is spotless with huge rooms. Each room has an entire wall of cabinets which house a refrigerator, microwave and tons of cabinet space. The rooms are oversized and very comfortable. The hotel is pet friendly with an area to walk your dogs behind the hotel. But, you would never know pets had stayed in the rooms; the air was fresh and clean smelling. The most outstanding experience was the staff; they could not do enough for you! "Vicky" made sure you got your free breakfast every morning, even making your waffle for you if you had trouble with the machine. The front desk could not have been nicer and the cleaning staff were outstanding. They would continually ask if there was anything else they could do for you; we have never had such service in many years of travelling. This hotel & staff deserve a perfect "10"; you will love it here!
