I really enjoyed my stay at this location. Modern décor, very clean and comfortable. Area has several restaurants near to pick up food without having to go very far. Staff was nice, not over the top but nice. There was a bit of a wait before being acknowledged but from there no issues or worries.

We stay here for four nights and location was terrific because La Quinta was on I-64 and 264 which means one can travel very simply within the city. The coffee and breakfast was good and the service was excellent. The hotel was busy but it did not seem to bother us. A Great place to stay.

Stayed here on an overnight pleasure trip to the Louisville area. We got a so-called king suite but it was really just a large room. The hotel looked quite new and the room was clean and generally well appointed. Furnishings were contemporary in colors of navy and lime except for the jarring note a hideous sleeper sofa in an old fashioned burgundy jaquard fabric. It did not coordinate at all. The room had the bathroom sink in the main room and the toilet and tub in a tiny, separate room. I, personally, am not a fan of this kind of set-up. I prefer all the bathroom fixtures in one, separate room. The staff were merely courteous, not really friendly. The eating area was very small - just a dozen tables or less. When we went down for breakfast, we hit a time when a tour bus of kids were also dining so it was a bit chaotic but this was not the motel's fault. The selections were adequated but nothing more. The hotel desk attendant was doing double duty - also mopping the floor. Very small, unappealing pool. The rates were fine but there is a high amount of taxes in this area - about 20% of the bill.

Dear Virginia P.,

I was sorry to read that our hotel did not quite meet up to your expectations. The couch that you referenced in your room was actually a replacement for one that was broken by another guest. It has since been replaced by a new couch. Just for future reference, and to other potential guests reading this response, the tax rate in our area is 15.01%. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience here on TripAdvisor. We value all feedback and hope that you will give us another try next time you are in Louisville.

Warmest Regards,

I always rate a hotel with consideration of what I pay. This hotel was less than $100 and was much better than some that I have paid much more for. Bed, air and noise level make for a nice sleep. I would very much recommend this hotel for those who don't want to spend a lot of money but want a good night's sleep.

The rooms were extremely well appointed and comfortable. The staff very friendly and accommodating. My issue was with the breakfast. There was NO attendant to keep things refilled. The desk manager had to attempt to do his job at the desk and keep the breakfast food stocked which did not work out very well. We left hungry.

Room Tip: Air conditioner is very noisy. Don't expect much to eat for breakfast.

The hotel was clean but the breakfast was somewhat spartan as compared to other La Quinta hotels. We were woke up before 7AM by a barking dog in the hallway outside our door. When we went down to breakfast, I counted 7 dogs owned by other individuals staying at the hotel. I thought it was a AKC convention. I inquired at the desk when I checked out and the person stated LaQuinta was the ONLY major hotel to NOT charge additional for an animal in the room. He further stated they set aside about 20 rooms out of about 75 for animals. I know people love their animals but I do not want to think about sleeping on a bed which was shared by the dog. I will not stay in a La Quinta again.

Room Tip: Ask if the room was one reserved for guests with animals? If it was, make your own decision.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Our hotel is located in the heart of Kentucky, only minutes from major area companies and businesses, sports and recreation facilities, and wide-ranging area attractions. Whether you are a traveling corporate executive here on a sightseeing vacation, or just here visiting family and friends, our friendly and courteous staff is here to offer you a warm welcome. We are a bluegrass town with enriched southern culture and character, and you can choose from hundreds of dining, shopping, and local business options in this area. Make the most of your stay with our modern amenities and first-class features not far from all the best sights of the city. The Kentucky Derby may be a top destination in Louisville, but it is certainly not the only draw to this popular area. This city is located along the southeastern border between Kentucky and Indiana at the Ohio River. In fact, locals love to call this metro region "Kentuckiana" because it connects the commercial, economic and social interests of two states. Bottom line, it's a premier spot for the traveling business professional. And, as an area that has a sphere of influence that is both Southern and Midwestern, the distinct local culture charms wide-ranging visitors for leisure travel. Chockfull of annual festivals, it's impossible to choose just one reason to come to this area. Thunder over Louisville, for example, is the largest annual fireworks display in the country. With the city's love of independent art, music, and business, Louisville also boasts a booming indie scene. ... more   less
