“A Mediocre Nite”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

Read the other reviews and can't believe we are talking about the same restaurant. Certainly not impressive. The Praline Brie was the hi-lite of the meal. Selena's Oysters were pathetic, two tiny chewy overcooked oysters lost in a decent spinach, cheese sauce. The Hot Spinach Salad had a cloying sweet dressing--- a balancing heavy dash of white balsamic vinegar would have helped. The garlic shrimp pasta along with chewy apparently frozen-for-shipping shrimp, had a bitter finish showing that the garlic had been overcooked. The 1/2 price bottle of wine was helpful but overall a very mediocre meal for almost $100 [including a 15% tip, again for mediocre service]. Mediocre meal + mediocre service= mediocre but relatively expensive meal. Go at your own risk!

“Delightful brunch at Selena's”
Reviewed September 17, 2012

Selena's for Sunday brunch was a great idea. We ate outside on the patio on a beautiful afternoon. The Peach Bellini was a perfect way to begin the brunch and at only $2 was a great deal. Next were the Beignets. You won't find much better Beignets outside of the French Quarter in New Orleans than you will at Selena's. The entrees were Classic Eggs Saradou and the Mediterranean Omelet. We were stuffed and really enjoyed the Sunday Brunch.

“Dinner in Louisville”
Reviewed July 24, 2012

I had dinner at Selena's with two business associates. I ordered New Orleans Medley which consisted of Sampling of Jambalaya, Red Beans and Rice and shrimp and crawfish Etouffee. It was a large serving with a suttle heat. My colleagues had the special of rib eye steak with vegetables and sweet potato fries starting with the Gumbo soup as an appetizer. They were very happy with their selections and especially enjoyed the gumbo soup. I think it was a little over priced. The service was very friendly and prompt. It was a little noisy being located next to railroad tracks but it added to the charm.

“New Orleans charm on the patio”
Reviewed July 22, 2012 via mobile

The charm of the patio is enough to bring me back. Throw in some very nice food choices and friendly All-American wait staff and you've got yourself a winner. The shrimp & grits is mighty fine. And, their bread pudding for dessert is just one good choice. An evening out with friends here - or, a nice two-some with your sweetie - both can be a bit magical under the stars & lights of the patio.
