The hotel was very clean and nicely decorated, but for a suites hotel the rooms were cramped. Stayed with 2 kids and there was not much room to move around. Sofa bed was very small but my kids seemed to sleep fine on it. The king bed was hard but the linens were of good quality. Lots of pillows too.

There was a lot of noise from the hallways, parking lot and other rooms around ours. When the shower or sink was turned on in the next room it sounded like it was in ours! There are train tracks nearby and the trains (on a Saturday night) could be heard distinctly until about 11pm and again just before sunrise. Overall, not a lot of quality sleep time.

Whenever we travel to Louisville, about 1x/month, there are a lot of "groups" there, this time mostly young teens participating in sports events. They tended to dominate the pool and there was no enforcement of rules, such as "only 5 allowed in the pool at a time". Of course occupancy is not something you can always plan, but for future visits to any hotel in the Hurstbourne area I will ask what groups plan on being there.

Breakfast was equivalent to other suites hotels in the area, with hot and cold items. The breakfast room is more spacious than others which made for a more pleasant experience. The pool is fairly small, but plenty of room for kids to splash around. There is also a hot tub. All public areas were very clean.

Staff was friendly and accommodating.

  • Liked — Cleanliness, proximity to our purpose for traveling

We had a most excellant stay at this hotel in Oct 2007. We stopped for just one night when returning from TN. The room was impecably clean, the staff was great, the pool was small but fun and the breakfast selection was good. We had to wait for about 10 minutes at check in for our room to be cleaned. The staff was very appologetic and provided us with soft drinks and snacks while we waited. This hotel would be more than suitable for either business or pleasure.

We also stayed here as a getaway, house being renovated. Extremely pleased. We'd stayed at another one in W.VA and were sooo happy with the comfort level of the beds.

Once again, very comfortable beds and pretty quiet for being directly on a main road. All areas, including our room, was very clean throughout. Water pressure and hot water was great. Pool area nice, clean.

Had dinner a few blocks away, so many choices in that area, from drive-thrus to reservations only. Check-in and check-out, simple and quick. Very friendly staff.

Breakfast is one of the reasons we chose this brand hotel. They offer a full breakfast with make your own fresh waffles. My husband got there a little late in the morning and said it wasn't as fresh as expected but still good. Check out is later than most, 12:00. Great when you want to sleep in on a Saturday.

A very nice stay!

I stayed here as a night away from the husband and kids so I could read my Harry Potter book in peace. Great choice.

The room was fairly large. Good layout . Sink area is separate from the tub/toilet area.

Didn't try the pool, but it looked well-kept. Was getting a lot of use, from what I could see.

Breakfast area...fine. Not a huge crowd when I went, but I also took my selections back to the room.

I was on the first floor, and at the end of the hall I was in, there is a door that you go out and the McAlister's Deli is right there (driveway's width). There is also a McDonalds and Applebees next door, with a set of steps to take you over the ditch and past the trees.

I had the mold issue with the air conditioner, too. Rather I could smell it. I'm very sensitive to it, and I was very stuffed-up after a while.

  • Liked — Convenient location, large room, good amenities
  • Disliked — The mold smell coming from the AC unit

I must just be the only one who has trouble with Springhill Suites. I stayed at this one in Louisville 5-9-07. The room looked pretty good upon entry except for 2 things..1) It smelled like urine. 2)Upon inspection of the a/c unit, I noticed something that was black growing under the unit between the unit and the floor.
Now the water was hot. The towels were clean, bed was hard and the internet worked.
Since I was only staying 1 night I didn't want to make a big deal out of it.
This is the 2nd Springhill Suites I have stayed in within the last 10 days. Both have been sub standard. I don't think I am going to give this Marriott product another chance. I will just stick to Courtyards and up.

We stayed here while attending a soccer tournament. This hotel was very nice and worked great for what we needed it for. The best part was the beds--they were really comfortable!! The breakfast included with your stay was very impressive. Yes, the area gets a little cramped (as expected), but it's worth it for a "free" breakfast. They had lots of choices like waffles, french toast, cereal, muffins & breads to oatmeal. There is also a McAllister's Deli right next door (walking distance) as another eating option. I would stay here again while passing through or something like that.
