Went here with some friends on Christmas Eve Eve. There are plenty of quality bottled and draught beers to choose from. We tried 3 different varieties of fries, including the truffle oil and duck fat. Duck fat was the winner in my book. Also tried the grit cake which was tasty with a little kick to it. I ordered the beef brisket sandwich after learning they were out of lamb ribs and baby backs. I was NOT disappointed. Lots of flavor and juiciness...I was tempted to order another. My husband had the pulled duck sandwich which he loved. I tasted it, and the brisket was still clearly the front runner. My friend ordered the venison burger, which was very juicy and tasty...not at all gamey. My mom ordered the chicken and waffle. I tasted one of her chicken wings and I wasn't impressed.

It's in a basement. Smells good around the block. Ok, I'm in. Packed. Not a lot of tables. Greeted right away. Nice. Cool beard dude. Grab a beer. Good choices, good prices. Yes. Nice tats and crew cut bartender. Next in q to be sat. 10 minutes later. We pick the bar. Greeted immediately by aforementioned Crewtats. Cool. We order. No pressure just matter of fact. Food comes as it's made. Perfect. Fries. Bomb. Soft shell Crab sandwich. Great. Beef Brisket sandwich. Succulent. Perfect meal. Never bothered by a server. Never annoyed by needy neighbors. Good look, Hammerheads.

We went here with my sister and brother in law. They live in Louisville and told us this place wasn't to be missed. It was weird at first, we had to wait for a table but you weren't sure if the staff was going to seat you or if you had to grab a table before another group got it. A table for four shouldn't be that hard to come by. BUT once we were seated and the food started rolling out i didn't care about the awkward wait. The real standouts for me were the truffle fries and my smoked catfish sandwich. Both were AMAZING and the price was great. I will be back for sure.

First, this is a bar that only serves beer, but has a great selection of craft brews on tap. Basically, it is the basement of a house turned bar. Barsement?

In the heat of the summer, the place is a green house, but never mind the sweat, because the IPA is great and the food outrageous.

Next, this is a bar that is serious about its bar food. The pork belly sandwich was each bite better than the last. The Elk burger was moist, big, and tasty. Duck and pulled pork tacos! Wonderful. And, the lamb ribs fell off the bone. Friends commented that the catfish and brisket were also delicious.

But the truffle fries cooked in duck fat? Get out! No condiments needed. Each one better than the last. Sweet potato fries also scored big.

Although the Mac Cheese fritters were a fav at the table, I thought the straight Mac and Cheese was much better.

I passed on dessert (who needed it?), but a friend let me try the brownie with bacon. One bite was unique, but I could never eat the whole thing. And, on the way out, found a commercial brownie mix box in the trash by the bar. That is fine by me. They put that mix on steroids, but then I did not come for dessert, but for the great brew and bar grub!

It's greasy, because it's bar food. Live a litttle. While I live a lot!! I plan to be a regular.

They do not do lunch and be prepared to wait for a table, unless you sit at the bar. It is not a big place and they don't take reservations. Busy even on a Tuesday night.
