“Small room but a good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2009

If you are just traveling through Louisville and need a nice, clean, safe and cheap place to crash, than look no further. The beds were fairly comfortable, the front desk clerk could have been a bit more but then again she looked like she was working a double shift.

My wife and I make a trip to Chicago at least once a year, and Louisville is a good halfway point for us to stop. We have stayed at the Microtel on at least three occasions now and have been generally satisfied with the experience. You do get what you pay for, but considering how much most hotels are charging these days, compared with what you get in return, this is a good value. The rooms are very small, but they are clean and adequate to a simple overnight stay. The staff is friendly. For the price, you can't go wrong. The only thing stopping this hotel from being an outrageously good value are the mattresses. They do not do wonders for one's back after a long trip in a car and should be replaced. Otherwise, no complaints.

The outstanding service offered by the staff was an unexpected pleasure. The hotel was clean, the bed confortable and spacious, and the breakfast acceptable.
This is one of the best Microtels I have stayed in. Angela
at the front desk was very attentive to our needs. I'd stay there again without hesitation.

The chain's cleanliness and maintenance is unrivaled by better known chains. We have stayed in 3 other Microtels, and found the larger room size and queen bed here a pleasant surprise.

Be prepared to eat a light breakfast, or else supplement it with a run to a fast food joint. The Louisville Microtel had coupons for a few nearby restaurants, including a surprisingly good TexMex place in a strip mall 1/2 mile away. Buca di Beppo fans will find one about 2 miles distant.

If you haven't reserved ahead (or amybe if you have), best rates come in tabloid coupon books offered at state-border welcome centers. Pick one up along with your road map.

Definitely the cheapest rate in Louisville, and, overall, an outstanding value. We had two queen beds -- very comfortable! -- and a good TV, well-lit bathroom, and clean accomodations. The only downside is there was no hair dryer, but you can ask for it at the front desk. All in all, a real deal. We'd definitely stay there again.

While this was the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in, for one night and the price it was good. Clean and comfortable. Breakfast leaves something to be desired (standard cereal, muffin set up) Overall this was a good stay for the price but if it was more than one night or more people I would have to go somewhere else

We were in town for Thunder Over Louisville but didn't want to spend a small fortune to stay in the downtown area on the night of the show. If you don't mind either waiting a couple hours before you leave downtown or waiting a couple hours in traffic...this is a much more affordable choice. Good news...it's a quick trip from downtown when there's not an event drawing 500k people! Very clean and outstanding value with updated rooms, no polyester comforters! Helpful front desk staff, quiet even though near the Interstate. Location is near many other hotels that can be twice the price. Our room was basic and did not include coffee maker, fridge or microwave...if you need those things make sure to check what type of room you're reserving.
