Zip line was awesome. There were 4-5 long zip lines & the guides were fun. It was a unique experience being underground & they let us drive through the lights for free (& bypass the line since we were already at the front). I highly recommend this

I've seen a lot of drive-thru light shows. Most are done in county parks or some other open area. Mega Cavern lights are enclosed in a tunnel. Because you are in a tunnel, the lights are much brighter and more festive. Yes, the lights are the same as the ones you see above ground. However, you get a peek into some weird building built under the Louisville Zoo that was planned to house 50,000 during the time of the Cuban Missle Crisis. Once you are in the tunnel, the light show is about 30-40min. I think we waiting to get into the tunnel about 30-40min. on Black Friday. The line moves pretty fast. I rate it as a must do once. We spoke to a lot of the locals about it. . . they don't go because there are other light shows that are cheaper. It is a cool novelty and we were tourists for the day.

Our family of 5 enjoyed the lights very much. The cost seems high, but if you have a car load, the price per person is reasonable. If you are willing to go on weeknights, you can find coupons.

We went on a Monday evening around 7:30, the crowd was light. This year you had a lead car that you followed through the cavern as a guide. I don't know how this works when the crowd is large, but I think it went well. The lights were fabulous. One thing is the music is very loud. I also didn't like the commercialism, after all we paid $25 to go through.
