“Classic Italian with Flair”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 20, 2013

This is one of my favorite Italian restaurants anywhere, with classic cuisine. Daily specialties are featured, often from private recipes, and the management/chef always seems pleased to provide my special requests if the ingredients are fresh and available to him. The menu includes a number of veal dishes and a wide wine selection/collection. If you're in the mood for a public restaurant with a "personal" feel, you must try this establishment. I'm sure that, like me, you'll become a regular guest! Five Stars in my book! Like other establishments along Frankfort Ave. it is located in a former home which adds to its comfy-family ambiance.

“Great neighborhood place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 19, 2013

This is a consistently good Italian restaurant. The chef is inventive along with the standards. It serves my favorite Piccata(veal or chicken) in Louisville. The service and food deserve 5 circles, but the ambiance keeps it from being a 5

“Hole in the wall that is... AWESOME”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 28, 2013

If you're not looking close enough, you might just drive right by one of the greatest tiny Italian restaurants in Louisville.. and that is undoubtedly DiFabios! A very small, quaint restaurant that creates a romantic atmosphere. I went in the winter and it was excellent... A quiet restaurant to enjoy with your significant other.

“Casual Italian”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2013

A fairly small place. Red sauce Italian. Service is always good. Food is good. An excellent value.

The goat cheese appetizer is excellent.

Along with water in glasses, they put a carafe of water on the table which is helpful. Decent wine service and selection.

“Finally, Good Italian Food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

As others have mentioned in their reviews, it's sometimes hard to find an Italian restaurant in Louisville that's not a chain. We were very pleased on a recent vitis to DiFabio's and are quite happy to now have a good, local, Italian restaurant!

The restaurant is small, but the dining room is cozy and charming. The background music was a great mix of old standards, Italian crooners, and early rock, and was just right for the crowd. Not too loud, but you could still enjoy it. Our server was attentive, but not intrusive.

We started our meal with the baked goat - lovely baked goat cheese, that is, served in marinara sauce with toasted bread chips, and it was delicious. Salads come with the entrees, and it's a "family style" salad, which was very tasty. I ordered angel hair pasta with marinara sauce and added grilled shrimp. The sauce is very flavorful, and the shrimp were grilled prefectly. In fact, they were some of the best grilled shrimp I've had in quite a while.

We passed some wonderful looking cake on our way in, but we're too full after the meal to have any. Maybe the next time, because we will be going back. Soon, and often!
