“A dead sport that refuses to die.”

Little racing, to long between them, poor payouts, high prices. Horse racing is dead and Churchill Downs doesn't know it yet.

“Touring the grounds was an unexpected pleasure!”
Reviewed March 4, 2012

We went to the museum thinking wer were only going to see the musuem. While payinf for admisssion we were asked if we wanted to join the tour that was just starting. We joined and were glad we did. We were able to walk the gounds and enjoy the highly entertaining stories of our guide. He shared many stories and kept us all interested and ready to come back on derby day! The actual musuem was interactive for kids to enjoy and provided enough adult theme for the adult horse lover too. I would suggest watching the free movie. It is presented "in the round" and makes a strong positive statement that will turn the nonhorse lover into a horse lover.

“An exciting tour experience for horse lovers and horse race watchers alike!”
Reviewed March 4, 2012

Easy to find with GPS and Highway signs and plenty of parking - off season. Enter via the Kentucky Derby Museum and purchase ticket/get wrist band. The tour experience was wonderful from the amazing Movie Experience start to the Walking Tour with very Informative Guide to the Museum Visit and stop in the Gift Shop and the Cafe'. What a thrill to envision actual Derby Day with the fancy hats, famous people and mint juleps! Hands on activities in the museum for kids. Not sure about track tours during race season.

“Must See When Visiting Louisville”
Reviewed February 25, 2012

So I am a local maybe a little partial to the place but Churchill Downs is a a fun experience everytime we go, pick a day to bet the ponies and take in the grounds you will not be disappointed. General admission is $2.00 for the normal racing days and food and beverage is reasonable, for a upgraded experience visit the Silks room, Millionaires row,or Jockey Suites, overall a great experience.
