Length of Stay: 4 nights
Rate: ~$50 via Priceline
Arrival: When I arrived at the Louisville International Airport, I stopped by the Information Desk by the baggage claim and asked them to call the 'Holiday Inn Louisville Airport" to have them pick me up. Shortly later, a shuttle arrived, but we were taken to the WRONG Holiday Inn. So, there are TWO Louisville Airport Holiday Inns. We then had to wait for another shuttle to arrive. I wish I had known this before calling for the shuttle, but my ignorance isn't the hotel's fault.
Check-In: Quick and friendly. We got a coupon for $5 off at the hotel's restaurant. Even though we booked through Priceline, our request for a non-smoking room with two beds was honored (so I'm not really sure why other reviewers said they felt like they were a second class customer because they had booked through Priceline...I didn't get that impression at all during).
Room: The room was very nice and modern. Big flat-screen TV, free internet. I agree with other reviewers who said the room is a little dark, but it IS a bedroom after all. The room smelled fresh and was immaculately clean. Also, I agree with others who said the bed was rather uncomfortable--we found it to be quite 'springy.'
Location: Location was both a good and a bad. Very close to the freeway and airport. There were many dining options within walking distance (i.e. Taco Bell, Wendy's, a Mexican restaurant). However, when I was eating at Wendy's, two police officers swarmed in and took someone out in handcuffs. This was on the first night, mind you, so I didn't really feel that the surroudning area was that safe.
Staff: Overall, I wasn't that impressed. Often, the Front Desk was unstaffed, and when it was, the clerk didn't greet you when you entered or exited. Not a big deal, but it did make the experience rather impersonal.
Overall, I'd definitely go back. Heck, we extended our stay an additional two nights! So, it's definitely a solid airport hotel.
