Owner description: Batter up! It takes a special place to craft the #1 Bat in Major League Baseball. At Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory, experience history-in-the-making as you stroll through the actual factory where world-famous Louisville Slugger bats are created. The award-winning factory tour is a highlight of the visit here, but there's plenty more to enjoy along with it. Admire the World's Biggest Bat - stretching 120 feet into the sky. Hold bats actually used by baseball superstars like Mickey Mantle, Johnny Bench, Cal Ripken Jr. And Derek Jeter. Face down a 90-mph fastball hurled by a major league pitcher. Count the homerun notches Babe Ruth carved into his Louisville Slugger bat for every home run he hit with it. Step into the batting cages and take some swings with a replica model of your hero's bat. Guests even get a free miniature souvenir bat at the end of the factory tour. You can even create a bat with your own name on it, just like the pros. They make great gifts for all kinds of special occasions, from newborn babies, to groomsmen gifts, to team trophies and more. The museum store is also loaded with lots of sporty merchandise for every budget. Be sure to swing by! Please visit our official website for up-to-date hours and admission prices.

It was interesting to see how bats are made today in the factory. Nice small museum area as well. Mini bat included in ticket price. Check with your hotel; ours had $1 off coupons.

“Fun, and learned a lot!”
Reviewed October 21, 2012

Honestly, this was much more interesting and enjoyable than I had anticipated. My husband's more of the baseball fan than I am, but the exhibits were well done, and interesting -- and the factory tour was really cool! The guy leading the tour did a great job, and it was really something to see the bats being made. We wound up buying two of the "off" (where the varnish wasn't perfect) bats for ourselves! Really a fun way to spend some time!

“Pay the money for the Extened factory tour Family Friendly”
Reviewed October 21, 2012

This is a wonderful tou. Most of the tour is free, but the extended tour was quite an eye opener. We watched Bats being made for the playoffs. There is a lot of more to making professional bats than one would think. On the extended tour you are able to hold several professional players bats. The gift shop will ship your purchases for you. bats are not allowed as a carry on if you are flying. Pay to park on one of the parking lots near by for 5 dollars for all day parking. You will need the time to explore this attraction. There are also several museums in the area within a few blocks,. So you could easily spend most of the day in one area.

Heaven for anyone who loves baseball, interesting factory tour for others. Nice folks, only 30 minutes, small exhibit and they give you a mini wooden bat for a souvenir. Custom bats for sale (or order) in the gift shop.
