An amazing experience over all! Breath taking views, great hosts, outstanding gourmet food and wine, unique bush bath (a must do), beautiful rooms and all very inviting, warm and friendly building and staff. A must do experience. Also a great gift idea for a couple - wedding, engagement, reward etc. Loved it all! Plus surrounded by ample wineries and Maggie Beers.

Kingsford Homestead was our 'treat' on a drive from Sydney to Perth - a splash out on a trip that featured mainly visits with friends and simple motels. Kingsford did not let us down! The Homestead is beautiful, gracious and a wonderful reminder of a by-gone era. Our room, the Stephen King Suite, was huge and had a lovely, modern bathroom. The pool deck overlooking the gardens was just the place to relax. We spent the day touring the Barossa but found our way back to Kingsford in time for a good walk over the rolling hills of the property. John, our host, offered to take us on a drive but after a good lunch out and in expectation of a good dinner we opted to walk. Dinner was in the wine cellar, lit with candles and full of Barossa ambiance. The food was fantastic, local produce featured, as one would expect, and even the simple things such as the pumpkin veloute were wonderfully rich & creamy. The beef was a stand-out, so was the pork and ooooo the deserts!! I am sure you get the picture. Kingsford Homestead would be great for a special occasions too - lovely Kathy, John's wife (it is all so personal!) chatted with us over breakfast and told us about big birthday celebrations and about her part in several marriage proposals. A wedding was taking place 2 days after we left. Having said that - any excuse will do me and I think it is reason enough to drive back from Perth to Sydney, well at least as far as the Barossa.

Room Tip: If you like a bathtub go with the Stephen King Suite.

We were made to feel like lord and lady of the manor. We enjoyed an afternoon by the newly installed pool with drinks and nibbles. Later we were dropped off at the bush bath with a bottle of champagne. Very private and romantic. Food was fantastic and the hosts looked after our every desire without being intrusive. We'll definitely be back.

This was our second stay at Kingsford Homestead. We were lucky enough to celebrate our wedding here. All of our guests are still raving about their stay and like us just want to keep coming back. John and Kathy looked after all of us so well and nothing was too much trouble for them. Kingsford is very lucky to have these guys. Food was fabulous as was the friendly service from the wait staff. Barossa Wineries are 10mins away so plenty to do. Pool is also great.

Make sure you take the time to stay here it is a once in a lifetime experience.

Room Tip: We have stayed in Stephen King Suite and Stonemasons Cottage both are great. Huge comfy beds and bat...

We had an amazing evening at Kingsford. Spoilt beyond our wildest dreams in a truly unique place. Highly recommend a visit when in the Barossa or even if you have to go out of your way to get here ... the hospitality, food, surroundings and location are outstanding!
