We have stayed at this hotel in past years while traveling and found it quite comfortable without being overdone
with too modern or too traditional and the next time will bring our golf clubs and swim suit to spend a few days to
Fully enjoy the resort. We were on our way from Virginia to Chicago and Lexington is about half way. We stayed at the Griffengate on our way to Chicagoand on the way back. Checking in was good both times, The hotel staff is very friendly. The first time we stayed in the newer wing of the hotel with a larger bathroom and a very comfortable
bed. On the way back home we were given a room with a small bathroom and a very low toilet. In both bathrooms, the shower was in the tub and the water pressure was good. The bedroom areas are quite large and clean and the
Room was well done in terms of decor.

I was there over the weekend for a wedding and when I went to put on my dress it ripped. I was panicking and my husband called down to see if we could get a sewing kit or some safety pins. Few minutes later a young girl in housekeeping named Amanda came to our rescue.Not only did she bring sewing kits she even offered to help me fix it. Wow!!! Absolutely awesome hands down! With her help I was able to get my dress fixed in time for the wedding which was absolutely fabulous!

We were in town for an event at the KY Horse Park. It was a short 5 min drive. the hotel restaurant and bar had great food and service and fair prices. Also other restaurant choices in the area. Golf was excellent and we could make tee times days in advance. Rooms were clean. We would definitely return and take advantage of the pool and hot tub.

The griffin resort in Lexington Kentucky is a great place for a couple to have a supper weekend. Great food outstanding service. The area has a great deal of local culture and nice restaurants in downtown Lexington. The surrounding country has a wealth of horses and farms to visit.

We had a group there. The bathrooms in the lobby had stalls out of order the entire week which increased the wait time as there were several business groups there. The restaurant was mediocre and some of the food was served cold/burnt. People went to the gift shop and bought chips and candy for their meal since it was gross. We told the wait staff so they have us the employee discount which only took 20% off the bad entrée. 20% off is nothing when it was inedible. Definitely needs updating. There was something that happened our last night so nobody (in the entire hotel) had hot water for showers the next day. (This might not have been their fault as the fire alarm went off the day before after we all heard a loud boom and lost electricity) Everyone was ready to go home! Considering there is a resort fee added to your nightly stay, nobody should consider this a true resort. The 1 bottle of water in the room is misleading as it says $4 and in small print says 'complimentary with resort fee' - which EVERYONE pays...so why not just say it's complimentary and not be misleading. Several people were unsure since it had the $4 price on it. It's not a motel 6 but just be aware it isn't as nice as it looks on the website
