We visited Pete's Wok because we had a Living Social Deal. I won't be going back, I only rated this a two because they were very nice, so good customer service. I stuck with ordering standard items since the place was new to me.

I had the egg drop soup. It wasn't horrible, but it tasted like they dumped a whole box of salt in it. My husband and I split some crab ragoons. If there was crab in it I couldn't find it. It was basically a big glob of cream cheese with nothing in it, in the center of a wanton. And I also ordered sweet and sour chicken. I ate one piece of the chicken and couldn't eat any more of it. It was so greasy, and tasteless. Even the sauce couldn't help it.

I discovered this great place while in Lexington at a convention. The restaurant is right across from the hotel I stayed at. The desk clerk recommended it so I thought I would try it. I was not disappointed. I love Vietnamese and Thai food, especially hot dishes. I had the Singapore noodle--hot--and it was fantastic! It was a huge serving with lots of chicken plus carrots, onions, and bamboo shoots (I might be forgetting something). The spices were great--sort of a curry, I think. Everything was very fresh! And the atmosphere very friendly--the owner came out to chat with customers. All in all, a great place--and they deliver!

My first visit to Pete's Wok today won't be my last. I ordered from the Vietnamese menu and chose the spicy Hu Tieu Xao dish ($5.50) with chicken (stir-fried noodles with bean sprouts, onion, green onion, carrots and bamboo strips). Just the right amount of heat with fresh ingredients. Perfect.

The Goi Cuong Vietnamese Spring rolls (2 for $3.50) with sweet Black Bean sauce were equally outstanding and the ingredients were also fresh.

The people here are friendly and helpful with the menu choices. Pete is the chef who is very outgoing, friendly and customer-oriented. This place opened recently and is located on Waller across the street from St. Joseph's Hospital. The interior is very basic but the food is great.
