“Amazing”
Reviewed May 8, 2013 via mobile

We had an unbelievable meal here. Started with with drinks in the bar. Bartender Tommy was great. We then moved to our table in the dining room. Service was incredible. The wine suggestion was terrific. Our meals were as good as it gets!! We don't usually order dessert but on the suggestion of two servers we decided to share the caramel pound cake. Absolutely amazing!! If in Lexington a must destination for dinner.

“Outstanding. One of the best meals I have had in Lexington”
Reviewed May 7, 2013 via mobile

I've been coming to Lexington for work for the last 4 years. This is without a doubt the best meal I have had in town. Can't wait to come back

Pros:
- Great ambiance off the park in a old historic hotel
- Great drink and bourbon selection
- Creative and incredibly tasty southern cooking. Their take on shrimp and grits was amazing
- Despite southern slant on its dishes, did not taste too unhealthy
- While not cheap, a great value for a meal of this quality

Cons:
- Honestly can't think of any

“Sunday Brunch - meh”
Reviewed May 6, 2013

We decided to have our special get together here based on a recommendation since everyone was coming from out of town. We all have preconceived notions of what a $24pp brunch is supposed to be like, lets face it. We had a look at the menu beforehand so we realized this was not going to be a buffet brunch with a never-ending varietal supply of goodies. The menu IS interesting with a nice southern variety of specialties - burgoo, hot brown, beer cheese, etc - its just over-priced. There are no drinks included - each iced tea was $2.75.
We arrived timely, our table was ready - unfortunately the two tops they put together for our party of 9 were all different sizes and heights. Normally we're not that picky, but again based on how upscale this restaurant is, this detail was missed.
As a group we had the following - Starters - Burgoo, Strawberries (very good), Braised Pork Belly (excellent), Oatmeal, Salmon (good). Entrees - Hot Brown (mediocre), "Bad Omelet (mostly eggs, with very little of anything else), Eggs Benedict (mediocre), Steak & Eggs (lots eggs, small portion of steak). Dessert was a variety of ice cream and sorbet like the menu says - and they were fine. The bloody mary's were terrible. We should have stuck with Mimosas.
The server was very nice and knowledgeable. The food all arrived at the same time and was hot as you would expect.
The restaurant itself is quaint, but as some have pointed out - it just feels old & stuffy. We could have had a similar meal at the Embassy Suites where we were all staying that was included in our room rate. Our final bill was ~ $48pp and 3 of them were under 21.

Very good food with beautiful presentations. The staff made it even more enjoyable. We ate there all three nights that we were in Lexington.
