This was my second visit to Palmers. Both times our servers were outstanding and the ambience was relaxing. It's the kitchen that falls short. My shrimp and grits were outstanding but a little lacking in quantity. I made up for that with lots of their hot, tasty bread. My husband's pork chop was okay, a little dry and not as good as what I make at home. ( for $19.99, it should be great!) Now that the patio on the "lake" is open, the place is a lot busier which might explain the difficulty that the kitchen I'd having. Hopefully they'll get things sorted out as we really like having this as a special night out.

Palmers has a beautiful decor in appealing Lexington Green with a view of the lake. The atmosphere was quiet, inviting and comfortable. The food at the Sunday brunch was outstanding! The iron skillet eggs were the best I've ever eaten. The sidewinder potatoes cooked in truffle oil were delicious. Every selection our table of four adults (plus a young child) ordered was a bit out of the ordinary, delicious, and attractively presented. The menu offered a good variety of choices. Prices for lunch/brunch were quite reasonable.

Palmers Fresh Grill was recommended by friends. We made a reservation through Open Table for 1pm on a Saturday. We did not need the reservation as there were many available tables. We were seated in a booth overlooking the water.

Our server was Adam and he was amazing! He asked if we had dined with them before and after learning we had not he enlightened us with all the details of there food selections. We had already decided what we wanted but he shared what we may like on a return trip, which we appreciated. We chose the Beef & Reef, that came with mashed potatoes and fresh vegetable medley (sirloin steak and crab cake combination) and the Ribeye that came with the same accompaniments.

We ordered the Fire Rings for our appetizer and The Lucky Martini since it was St. Patrick's Day weekend. They came served with a cream sauce and smoked ketchup. The onion rings were infused with Tabasco sauce and had a little bite. The appetizer portion is very large and delicious!

Our dinners were served in an appropriate amount of time and Adam was quick to see if we needed anything and if we were happy with our choices (which we both were). Our opinion of a good steak is flavor and tenderness; both of these met our expectations. Everything was delicious and we wouldn't hesitate to order again or to try one of the many other selections! They also brought a plate of what I believe was focaccia bread with olive oil and seasonings for dipping.

Apparently Palmers is well known for their Salty Caramel Bourbon Bread Pudding topped with Praline Ice cream. Even though we were incredibly stuffed, we order one dessert to share...and were so glad we did! It was truly the best bread pudding we have ever eaten, and we have enjoyed many. The praline ice cream is definitely what put it over the top!

We truly enjoyed our time here and it will become one of our regular eateries. Our check which included 2 cocktails, an appetizer, 2 large meals, and 1 shared dessert was around $75 before tax and tip.

We stopped by after flying into Lexington for business. The restaurant was a short walk from the Hilton.
The meal was good. The appetizers were all good. Three of the four of us had salads (guilty for the apps). They were good. The cilantro vinaigrette for the salmon needs reworked. It isn't great. It is like a verdant pesto on your salad and detracts from the salad rather than complementing it.

Dropped in with a party of 7 on a Saturday evening. Didn't have to wait. Justin was our waiter and took care of us. I had heard the place can get loud, due to the makeup of the ceiling, wood flooring, and open atmosphere. It was okay, but if the place was full, it would be a little loud. The horse artwork was really cool! And that made the place a little bit classy at the same time. The pace of our meal was a little slow, but the food was very good. The onion rings appetizer were spicey and plentifull. We had the specials of mahi-mahi, and fish, and beef entrees. They were all very good, and portions were large. The prices were not over-the-top for the entrees. They beer selection was pricey, though... We all left fat and happy with the experience. Want to go back in warm weather to see if the outside matches the great atmosphere that the former Regatta restaurant capitalized on when it was in the same location.
