Very good menu, quality preparation, professional and attentive service; inviting atmosphere. This is one of Lexington's best white tablecloth dining choices.

We lucked out and found this place on our anniversary trip to Lexington. My wife had a pasta dish with chicken and red sauce, and I had the salmon with crab lumps. We also ordered the bruschetta appetizer which was awesome. I think the prices are a bit high but overall it seems to be a small sacrifice for a guarantee that you're going to get awesome food and service at this place. The atmosphere was pleasant and servers friendly. We discussed it afterwards that we would definitely recommend this place to anyone we know traveling through the area.

Portofino tops our short list of “nicer” restaurants in Lexington. We dined here with another couple, and everything was perfect! Our server, Dean Morton, was very personable, suggested dishes to try, and was very attentive. We started with mixed drinks and a nice malbec, and ordered two appetizers: the bruschetta appetizer along with the PEI mussels appetizer. The bruschetta was very nicely prepared with roma tomato-basil relish, garlic, and gorgonzola cream atop grilled bread. This was the best bruschetta we have ever had, including in Italy! There were plenty of mussels steamed in Kentucky Ale Bourbon Barrel Stout, and were gone quickly. The caesar salad was served next along with fresh baked rolls. Our entrees were the grouper special, tagliatelle roma, seared sesame tuna, and grilled filet mignon. The vegetable was asparagus, and all were prepared perfectly. The menu is new and different from the last time we ate here, and everything sounded delicious. We were all happy with our choice of entrees, and had a wonderful time. The ambiance and energy in this renovated building are perfect for a memorable dining experience. You should definitely make reservations!

Had a wonderful evening celebrating my birthday. This is not an inexpensive restaurant but the taste and size of entrees is a fair representation of the cost. I had the bone in pork chop which was cooked perfectly and had very little fat. The sauce was very light and did not over power the meat. The others in my party had 3 different pasta dishes. They all enjoyed the pasta and said the sauces were very tasty. Appetizers were served warm and were also very tasty. We never felt rushed and the ambiance was very pleasing.

This restaurant is a must visit. It is elegantly appointed and the food is outstanding. We recommend a reservation. It was nice to see that people still think enough of a restaurant to dress appropriately in suit coats and dresses. If you only have a night or two in Lexington DO NOT MISS THIS RESTAURANT!
