“Hotel seemed tired”
Reviewed August 7, 2013

There is nothing really bad about this property. The front desk personnel was friendly and helpful. Parts of it, such as the lobby, appear to have had a facelift. But the outside appears run-down and the room was awkward and not as clean as I would like. It was shaped strangely so moving around was tight and we had to move the T.V. to see it from the beds. The towels were tattered, thin and stringy. Breakfast was typical for this type of property but a little weak. Too use horse vernacular, since everything in Lexington is about horses, it seems like it was rode hard and put away wet.

Stayed here for 5 nights to attend a family function. Got a very early check in from the front desk. Sweet!! Rooms are a bit smaller than other Springhill Suites I've stayed in but beds just as comfy. Nice breakfast area kept well stocked. Busy hotel, behind a Mexican restaurant , around the parking lot...they tell you to "turn at the waffle house" and there you are! Fresh water bottle of water (although only 8oz.) in the room was a plus. Good TV cable selection. Nice size TV. They sometimes have front desk staff who don't usually work at that location and have trouble with directions and suggestions but it's not a big problem. Good stay and would stay again.

SpringHill is one of those very standardized chains which tends to be much newer than other similar chains, and this one is exactly that. Front desk staff was helpful, though they were understaffed for a rush of evening arrivals and people needing help of various kinds. Parking lot is sort of a pain to get in and out of off a busy road and really not too much within an easy walk (especially since I wouldn't want to cross that road on foot). The flip side of that is that it's just minutes from downtown and the university area. Construction nearby right now so things were a little dusty in the parking lot, this summer probably should park away from the work area.

My 10 year old daughter and I stayed here over the weekend for her team to compete in the Bluegrass State Games Soccer Tournament. We have stayed in several hotels in Lexington through the years for the Bluegrass State Games and I can honestly say that this was by far the best hotel. My daughter’s teammates stayed at a different hotel that due to allergies my daughter was not able to stay at. Thankfully the Springhill Suites did not cause any issues for my daughter with her allergies.
It was quiet and the staff was very friendly. Breakfast was busy but the staff worked very hard to keep up with everything. The whole hotel was clean and well maintained. The pool was small and the hot tub was not very hot at times but the staff was quick to try and fix the hot tub. There were not many kids in the pool when my daughter was able to swim so the size really wasn’t a problem for us.
The King sized suite we had was very roomy and the bed was quite comfortable. It was close to the elevator but we never once heard the elevator. In fact I really never heard any noise from outside the room. The sofa sleeper was nice for my daughter and she loved having the desk area so she could draw.
Having a nice comfortable hotel somewhat close to the soccer field was great. Thank you to the Marriott Springhill Suites Staff for making this stay pleasurable and not problematic for my daughter.

Very clean and nice staff. Free breakfast was also a plus. My only criticism is that while there were actual glassware in the rooms the breakfast bar was all Styrofoam plates, plastic silverware, plastic cups and throw-away everything. It is not that I am above the occasional Styrofoam plate, I just found it to be very wasteful. No recycling what so ever.

A very nice typical Marriott hotel. Clean and very nice staff. Complimentary breakfast. Right down the street from the UK campus and Rupp Arena. Right in front of the Red Mile and near Keeneland, Bourbon Trail and the gorgeous horse country.

This hotel is very clean and the decor is bright and cheerful. However, the suite is smaller than other hotels we have stayed in and only has one tv. The pool is also very small. However, the staff is friendly. There is complimentary breakfast, but it is somewhat basic in terms of the offerings.
