“Great place to watch basketball”
Reviewed April 1, 2013

Rupp Arena is starting to get dated, but since it was built before suites became a standard part of the sporting venues in America, it feels intimate for the size. Great sight lines.

I recommend Mr. Kan's Chinese in the food court attached, and Gold Star Chili Dogs in the arena!

“Modernization Needed Immediately”
Reviewed March 30, 2013

Rupp Arena should not be used by the NCAA for tournament games until they upgrade the facility. The upper level has BLEACHERS and center court does not have a scoreboard with video screens. Someone also thought it was a good idea to put condiments (not in individual packets mind you) away from the counter and next to the restrooms. My best friend and I have been attending some region/round of the NCAA tournament for a decade, and this was hands down the most uncomfortable arena we have encountered.

“We had the cheap seats. ..... The natives were restless”
Reviewed March 29, 2013

Rupp arena was ok. The customers were a little off. We had three major incidents up in th endorse bleeds with cops, security and very drunk obnoxious people. Mainly middle aged folks that should no better. Crowd control was pretty lax.

“Great place to watch a game if you have lower level seats”
Reviewed March 28, 2013

We visited Rupp for the NCAA tournament this year. We had lower level seats on the aisle, beside the tunnel, and not far from the bench. So, our seats were fantastic. Thank goodness we had lower level seating because upper level is bench style seating, which I would assume is very uncomfortable. The arena is a little "outdated" the jumbo screens were in and out and there was a huge contraption in the middle that I assume was a sound system (no big deal). The staff was very friendly and I really enjoyed the Lexington Center, it provided a place to explore and visit while waiting for the gates to open. Rupp is also right down-town in walking distance to great restaurants. The parking area is also very convenient! The only thing I found disappointing was the lack of food choice within the arena for this event. Normally you see a huge variety of vendors, but there were only a select few here, so two days and six games later we found ourselves eating the same ole' thing.
