“Great restaurant find!”
Reviewed July 12, 2012

I was in Lexington for work and visited Cole's on a recommendation from a friend. I am a foodie and I am pretty picky. We had a great waiter who was friendly and courteous. The avocado and crab appetizer was delicious! My friend and I had both had salads and entrees. Duck and diver scallops were both fabulous. Cannot wait to go next time I'm in Lexington. It is worth the trip.

“Cannot wait to go back!”
Reviewed July 6, 2012 via mobile

Charming ambiance on the corner of Ashland and Main. This building has had many incarnations, but hopefully Coles will be around a long time. Four of us ordered different menu items and each was thrilled with their selection. One had fish, one duck, one diver scallops and I had the most fabulous short rib! Outstanding, accompanied by a delicious cauliflower puree and mixed vegetables. None of us drank alcohol and, unlike many restaurants, we weren't given the bum's rush to hurry and give the table to another party who may be a drinking bunch! The service was impeccable, attentive without being hovering. Will return very soon!

“great meal”
Reviewed June 29, 2012

6 of us ate at Cole's on June 23. Our waiter was very well versed in the menu and made great recommendations. He boldy told us that their New York strip was the best steak in Lexington. The 3 men in our group all took him up on his recommendation and ordered the steak. They agreed that it was indeed the best steak in town. 2 of us had the fish special (haddock I believe) and it was perfectly cooked. The other person in our party ordred the scallops. She said they were delicious as well. While this wasn't a cheap meal it was well worth the price!

We dined here last night and it was great! The menu had a good variety and everything was cooked to perfection. A nice addition to Lexington dining.

“Nice addition to Lexington!”
Reviewed May 3, 2012

Great to have this place in Lexington! Very nice decor and ambience. When we entered, we were warmly greeted. Only off-putting things were loudness of music and chill of the A/C (which they later adjusted, at our request). Our waiter, Shawna, was extremely nice and helpful. We ordered a glass of pinot grigio and a Riesling (the latter from their wine-in-a-keg - interesting concept, and very refreshing). The p.g. arrived at room temp; Shawna apologized for not noticing and replaced it with a chilled glass of the same. Husband ordered the spanakopita, which was excellent. I ordered the plate of warm olives (served w/ cubes of feta cheese and grilled toast, which was also great (altho' a tad too much vinegar for my taste). Husband had the Scottish salmon, which he liked a lot, altho' he thought it was a touch fishy smelling; accompanying mashed pots were really good. I ordered the duck breast, which was excellent - on the medium side of cooked (waiter didn't ask how i wanted it); roasted radishes - love! - and some sort of (bing?) cherry sauce and some greens accompanied. We ordered a glass of pinot noir and a Josh Cellars cab sauv (the latter for $10) - both were quite bland. I had mine replaced with a zinfandel from the wine-keg - not bad. Will definitely return!
