The Hampton Inn Lexington South is in a great location for visiting Lexington. It is very close to Man O War Blvd which connects much of Lexington. Man O War also passes the airport and connects directly to the Keenland racing facility.

The hotel is slightly confusing to initially find - it is in an office park just off Harrodsburg Rd, and there is no hotel sign visible from Harrodsburg. If coming from New Circle Rd, take Beaumont Center Pkwy to the north (right), then first right, then left and look for the sign. There are both a Texas Road House and a Waffle House in the general vicinity, so their signs might help. We were surprised that the hotel directions from the airport did not use the Man O War route.

Room rates were decent for Lexington in April, especially for something so convenient to Keenland. Most area hotels were completely booked the weekend we stayed.

Check-in and -out were flawless with no issues at all and the desk staff were very pleasant.

Our room was very quiet - even with the hotel completely full. We rarely heard anything from other rooms or the hallway. The room had two queen beds and was very clean. Towels were changed after the second day even though we had not indicated that they needed to be changed. The room contained a flat-panel television and coffeemaker (though the coffee available in reception was superior to what it made). The room air conditioner/heater worked very well (we needed both cooling and heating during our stay near the end of April - it was 34 degrees one morning).

The Hampton provided a very nice breakfast buffet and did include some hot items as well as cold. There certainly should be enough to satisfy most anyone. During the week, they provide 'grab and go' breakfast bags for those who do not have time for a 'sit down' meal.

Overall, it was a very pleasant stay and we would recommend this Hampton Inn without question.

Room Tip: Our room was #307 - facing north.

We were charged a rate higher than the agreed upon reservations. Front desk was not able to help, and we were referred to the manager. I continue to play phone tag with the manager to this day. When I pointed out the 100% satisfaction guarantee, it was not able to be honored. Gravy at the breakfast was cold. Great location, but not worth the cost due to it being a smaller and older Hampton. I could have paid the same price for the Hilton Suites.

I'm a big fan of the Hampton Inn chain. You can count on them for a nice room at a decent price. The rooms are always clean and I think that their staff is well trained and very friendly. The Hampton Inn - Lexington South is no exception. We had a great stay there. The breakfast room was very clean and the food up to par. The staff working the room was wonderful, very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this property.

Obviously an older hotel, but rooms were clean and the staff was pleasant. We only stayed one night, but would consider staying there again in the future. About 10 to 15 minutes from the Kentucky Horse Park. Breakfast had the usual choices and was quite acceptable. We had a problem with our television and were promptly moved to a different room. The bathroom was smaller than most.

Staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. Very impressed - great job by the staff! Room was clean, bathroom immaculate, heating system worked perfectly. I was there for a funeral and am absolutely directionally challenged. Troy and Megan both were so helpful. Overall, very, very good experience in a hotel!!

This hotel is very inviting, and made me feel right at home..... I Love the warm cookies and smiling face that greeted me when I entered the hotel. Thanks for the Warm welcome. I can't wait to come back on my next Lexington visit.

Had reservations and thank the lord we did. All hotels were booked due to George Straight in town. It was ugly at the front desk that night. Hotel had overbooked and as we sat in the lobby or breakfast area eating some food we had delivered people were being turned away that had reservations. I've never understood that, but it happens. I guess it's something all chains do and expect no shows not the case that night. I Felt bad saw families being turned away with little kids, I'm a softy, and being sent 30 miles away to find a hotel when they had reservations in hand.
Ok that being said the hotel was very clean and friendly to us.Our room was large and the bed and furniture very nice. The pool area was large and very well maintained. We ordered delivery to the lobby and had fun with a large group that was traveling the bourbon trail and eating in the lobby as well. Between all of us eating and sitting around the lobby and breakfast area it was left a mess. Pizza and food boxes, trash full, and tables dirty. But the front desk desk staff, which was having a bad night from the above stuff. Oh did I say the manager had run off and left the staff to fight the battle. Again I think this is wrong knowing your going to have problems stay and deal with them yourself. That's why you get the big bucks. OK Ok off my soapbox. Back to the area being left a total mess they, the front desk staff were super nice about it telling us don't worry they would clean it up later and were just glad we all had fun. After their evening and night that was super great.
The next morning at check out the young lady named Mandy was just the best, so polite and friendly made you feel it was there pleasure to have you stay with their hotel.
So after all that you decide, Hotel was great but that overbooking, I don't know. I know they all do it. I've had it myself. But based on the staff, and the hotel itself NOT THE MANAGER, I will stay again and the other guest were fun.
