“Misleading, life frightening, and rude guide”
Reviewed May 30, 2014

Right now our driver is driving us back to our hotels now and I am thankful to be heard back to continue on with my day in KY.

If you are elderly or would just like an air conditioned, distanced horse experience then this tour is for you.

If you would like a more interactive, friendly, hospitable horse experience I would try searching for a different one. Maybe on through the KY horse park.

Some points to keep in mind:
-Scary driver, often stopped on the side of the 70mph freeway to talk and show us am empty horse field.
-Not friendly
-Felt rushed at the places we stopped. No picture time
-A little late in picking us up
- gratuity signs plastered all over the van... Am I on an experiential tour or a money trap?

When giving our tours we make every effort to make them as entertaining, informative, safe and comfortable as possible for our tour guest. For the last two years since becoming a partner with TripAdvisor.com, we have received two 'Certificate of Excellence" awards from all of the positive reviews that we have received from our tour guest. Which we think says a lot about the quality and value of our tours. We do make several stops along the tour to give informative and historical information about some of the horse farms but have no control over the horses that are or aren't out in those fields as we pass by. We give morning and afternoon tours and have to move through the tours at what we believe is a normal pace for everyone, so as not to feel rushed. We encourage the taking of photos from inside and outside our vehicles during the tours, our guides even offer to take group pictures of our tour guest using their cameras. We also make every effort to be at our pickup points early or on time but on occasion traffic or tour guest delays will put us late in the latter pickups. If the delay is going to be an issue we'll have our office call to let them know about and reason for any delay. We think all of our guides are friendly, personable and put forth our southern hospitality. From past reviews we believe we've been able to more than satisfy a vast majority of tour guest. But, we realize that there are going to be individual situations were we aren't able to satisfy everyone all the time. We will use any possible critical review to look at the way we give our tours and improve on them in the future.

“Picturesque”

Interesting full three hours. Horses and farms are beautiful. Getting to see the foals up close was pretty cool. Learned so much about the horse racing. Good finish to being in horse country.

“Great Tour”
Reviewed May 29, 2014

We did this tour on a Sunday the only day we had to do it. Keep in mind if you have to do the tour on Sunday you only get to visit two farms instead of three. The tour was great and David did a wonderful job of driving us around Lexington and telling us about all we saw. I would highly reccomend this tour if visiting the Lexington area. Well worth the $35pp fee and dont forget to give a good tip!

“An excellent tour”
Reviewed May 27, 2014

What is the most important characteristic of a guided tour? A well-informed, easy to understand, full of anecdotes, and stories of the history of what you are seeing. Our tour guide Dave Leet was all of that. He has been doing this for a number of years and it shows. So I don't know whether the other tour guides from Horse Farm tours are of equal quality or not, but I can certainly recommend Dave for your guide. Other less important considerations - van was comfortable, max capacity was 10 so no big crowd; tour takes 3 1/2 to 4 hours.

“Worth the time and money”
Reviewed May 27, 2014

My adult daughter and I took a tour on May 10th and enjoyed ourselves very much. Our guide, Margaret Woods, was very knowledgeable, personable, and extremely patient with us. We learned a lot about the horse business and the Lexington area in general. Getting to tour Keeneland and pet five-day-old foals made it an outstanding experience. I highly recommend it!
