This was our first trip to School. The pros: The food is very good. The sushi is, I think, the second best is Lexington. The (pickled) plum roll is particular good, as are the wasabi dumplings and the aga dashi tofu.
The cons: The service on this particular night was abysmal. Our server brought our food out piecemeal, mixed orders together, and never entered part of the order. She never came back to check on us. There were 12 patrons (six of whom were in our group) in the restaurant at the time, so it was a rather slow night. When one in our group finally walked across the restaurant to inquire about the order, the server seemed not to remember anything about it, then blamed the computer for the mixup. The manager on duty apologized, and she offered free dessert to the couple whose food never arrived. (As they had not had dinner, they declined, but appreciated the offer.)
I have to think that our experience was not the norm based on others' experience. It may be a while, however, before we are ready to give it another go.
