“Interesting Craft Distillery”

We added Limestone Branch to our Bourbon tasting trail. We thought there would be more bourbon and were surprised to find it was mostly fruit moonshines. However it is a great small craft distillery. We were the only people on the tour which was nice. The tour starts with a history of the owner's family which is rich in bourbon history. The tour is quick since all of the production and bottling is in one large room. After the tour you can taste the moonshines and the bourbon in a small tasting area. The moon pie moonshines were delicious - tasted just like the vanilla, banana, and chocolate moon pies. The shop has shirts, hats, souvenirs, etc. and the moonshines/bourbon. We saw the moon pies in a local liquor store for less money, but the bourbon and fruit moonshines weren't offered anywhere else. Definitely worth a visit!!

“Neat craft distiller”
Reviewed May 6, 2014

While on a Bourbon distillery trip, we stopped here. Though they aren't yet producing Bourbon, it's a fun stop, is free, and doesn't take too long.

The production is comparatively tiny. Everything is in one small warehouse and you can pretty much see it all from one spot. Our guide Steven (not the owner) was very enthusiastic. Home brewers will love this place, since it's just a little more than the average guy could make in his garage.

The samples were quite tasty, and free, though the price of merchandise in the gift shop was a little high. My girlfriend balked at the $33 T-shirt.

“A Hidden Gem In Lebanon”

Limestone Branch is a must stop if you really want to enjoy a Small Craft Distillery. Owner Steve Beam will give you a tour of the facility and explain not only the history of bourbon but, how his family fit into the whole history. It's a very small location so it does not take a long time to tour. Steve will invite you into the tasting room afterwards where you can sample not only the Sugar Shine product but, also the new Moon Pie Moonshine. It's very good and the Banana was the best. They also have a gift shop where you can purchase the usual shirts, hats, pins, etc. You can also buy the products. They have all the flavors of Sugar Shine and Moon Pie Moonshine. The prices are very reasonable.

“Moon Pie - really???”
Reviewed April 24, 2014

I had read about fact that this distillery was partnering with the makers of Moon Pie to do a Moon Pie branded moonshine. Before you laugh, you must try it. Fabulous isn't a good enough description. And it comes in Vanilla, Chocolate and Banana. Suffice it to say we brought back a bottle of the vanilla and everyone that's tried it loves it.
But there's more. In your standard moonshines, they are available in all sorts of flavors as well: Sugar, Apple Cinnamon, Jalapeno, Blackberry, Strawberry, Pumpkin Pie and Cherry. Tried the Pumpkin Pie and the Jalapeno – both excellent.
True to their "Bourbon Trail" billing, they have an oak barrel moonshine that looks the color, but its name gives it away - "Revenge."
Rounding out the gift store items, we also picked up some terrific Kentucky Maple Syrup, bottled especially for Limestone Branch Distillery.
Stop in, meet the distillers, brothers Steve and Paul Beam (yep, that Beam) and be ready for a fun experience.

This is not Maker's Mark, or some highly professional distillery with skads of people. It's a family-run very small distillery in a small building, specializing in moonshine. You get led on a small tour of the facility (which doesn't take long to tour - it's a small warehouse), and then into the tasting room for a few shots.

It's a very enjoyable place. The employees are very friendly and helpful, and really seems to enjoy their craft and demonstrating their craft. It's definitely worth a stop on your Bourbon Trail.
