The studio was bright and colorful. The paint selections and ceramic selections were nice. The studio artist was very friendly and provided an experience that allowed you to relax and create while listening to music.

Even a person like me - with no talent - can feel proud when they walk out with their home-made piece! I have my art work in my office!

My wife took her sister and they both were thrilled to attend a small group session where each person has their own turning wheel! Under the direction of the owner 'Susan' they each were able to make two pieces. Susan will then fire the pieces which can be picked up in the near future. My wife enjoyed the session, she's already planning on going back. Small, privately owned business, located in an old house and amazing !

What a great day of painting pottery. Susan is a fabulous instructor with the most patience for students with no experience, like me. We had so much fun we're going back to make our own. She also has beautiful pottery to sell that she makes herself.

We had a pregnant friend with us and a lot of the options in Lawrenceburg were wineries or distilleries. Our hostess and Lawrenceburg Bed and Breakfast recommended that we come here.

Susan was so great! She not only helped us get started, but all of the materials were already laid out and ready for us. All we had to do was pick what we wanted to paint. There were a ton of options. The four of us chose a fish, a bowl, a keepsake box and a truck piggy bank. There were tons of color options that made it easy to select. She had different types of paint and brushes and design books.

We had such a great time. If you want to drink AND do pottery, you could always hop right over to Four Roses, it's literally next door.

Side note: You have to look in the shop. I got an adorable ornament that said '<3 Bourbon' in the shape of KY on it. There are so many cool things in there.

We will return. We had such a great time and Susan has such a wonderful shop! It was hard enough for us to find just one thing to paint!

If you're going to be at Four Roses Distillery, don't miss this little shop. Susan, the owner, is a wonderful host! Her shop is filled with unique items as well as her handcrafted pottery. This is a stop you DON'T want to miss! Local folks can come out and take various classes here as well.

Right next to Four Roses, this little shop is a must see. Susan Burge is a wonderful artist and utterly delightful woman. Her pottery is available in the shop along with the works of many other Kentucky craftspeople. We collect hand made pottery and Susan's work is our current favorite. We find her very creative and experimental. Her work is not static, thus always interesting to returning visitors. Her engaging personality will definitely brighten your day.
