Snug Hollow is an enchanting getaway spot, where you feel the character and history of a Kentucky homestead blended with beautiful and luxurious rooms and food. The cabins are great for a family getaway and the gorgeous bedrooms in the house are great for couples. My husband and I went with our infant daughter and we were the only ones there on a rainy Sunday night. Barbara offered us either a bedroom or the cabin and we chose the cabin to hear the rain on the tin roof all night. It was so peaceful and beautiful there that our time was rejuvenating despite having our baby with us. The food was delicious. We will definitely be back both as a family and as a couple.

What a privilege to share this place with the owner, Barbara Napier. It's always a bit difficult to judge what a B&B will be like, and we were hoping this would live up to its website claims - not to mention the tripadvisor claims from various reviews. It does that and more. This is a truly outstanding place to stay. Everything is super clean and well maintained, beds are lovely and comfortable - so that's the basics more than covered. But it truly is a magical place. We stayed in the cabin by the house, with our seven year old. We sat on the porch and watched dawn break over the hollow, watched a coyote stalk deer (unsuccessfully!), went for a walk in the morning sun by the creek, enjoyed the wild turkeys, and the amazing number of birds. We enjoyed a fantastic supper with Barbara and her guests, and a great breakfast too. And we all want to go back. A unique and tremendous find for us - absolutely one of our favourite places we have found across the world. We found Kentucky over all a real delight on a road trip that took in Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Carolinas and even a bit of Georgia - we stayed in some world renowned places - Snug Hollow was the unexpected highlight.

Room Tip: Stay for at least 2 nights and book dinner!

It was our first trip to Snug Hollow, but we hope that it will be far from our last. Everything was very tastefully done, including the decor and food. With Barbara, you meet as strangers, but leave as friends, she has a real knack for making you feel at home and relaxed. The mountain scenery was the best!!! Deer came up to our cabin in the morning, while about a hundred yards away, turkey were struuting, with their feathers fanned out to impress the hens and the guests. We had planned to see some near by sites, but we're having so much fun that we never left the property.

I had no idea what to expect. I just needed a place to stay the night, and Trip Advisor suggested Snug Hollow Farm. What a wonderful surprise!! The setting, my accommodations ( a 150 year old, beautifully appointed cabin), the amazing, organic southern cooking, the other guests, and of course, the inn keeper herself, Barbara Napier, all of it unforgettable! Truly the BEST of Southern hospitality.

We stayed in the Cabin by the Creek for one night and were giddy about the accommodations. Barbara helped us with our things and gave us the lay of the land when we arrived. The cabin was exceptionally clean with fresh flowers in vases dotting the room. Shelves were lined with books and games, and interesting magazines were in baskets by the fluffy couches. The kitchen was stocked with coffee, tea, a coffee maker, an electric teapot and a full refrigerator. A gas fireplace provided ambience and heat. The bed was way too inviting and very hard to get out of in the morning, were it not for the beckoning of the wrap around front porch to watch the wildlife and, of course, Barbara's extraordinary cooking.

The pond is just up the hill where you can soak up life in the hammock or do a little fishing for fun. There are clearly marked trails that run through the property so that you can enjoy the scenery of the hollow, the ridge and the creek.

We had dinner and breakfast, and both meals were exceptional. I highly recommend eating as much as you can there. The details of the cuisine, like Barbara's homemade salad dressing at dinner and the crust sprinkled on the eggs in the morning, were a testament to the care and thoughtfulness she puts into her delicious food.

We will be going back to Snug Hollow every chance that we get. For the quality of the accommodations, the peacefulness, the gracious host and the food, I don't think we could find a better way to spend our money on a getaway.
